Despite receiving negative reviews, Hulu has renewed Kim Kardashian’s legal drama, All’s Fair, for a second season. The show, created by Ryan Murphy, was picked up for another season even before the first season finished airing, demonstrating that a large audience can be more important than what critics think.
Premiering on November 4th, the show quickly became Hulu’s most popular scripted debut in three years. Hulu announced that it received 3.2 million views worldwide within its first three days. However, reviews from critics were generally negative.
Okay, so I checked the critical reception, and it’s…rough. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a measly 4% rating, and the general consensus seems to be that it’s just not good – not entertainingly bad, and not even interesting enough to argue about. Metacritic isn’t any kinder, giving it an 18 out of 100, which pretty much screams ‘overwhelming dislike.’ Honestly, it sounds like a show to avoid!
Kardashian, playing the character Allura Grant, playfully responded to the criticism on Instagram, asking, “Have you watched the most critically acclaimed show of the year?” Her co-star, Glenn Close, joined the fun by making a joke referencing Critic-Bunny Stew, a humorous take on her famous movie Fatal Attraction.

Let me tell you about the cast – Naomi Watts is fantastic as Liberty Ronson, and Niecy Nash-Betts really shines as Emerald Greene. Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, and the always-amazing Sarah Paulson round things out as Milan, Chase Munroe, and Carrington Lane, respectively. Now, the critics? Oof. They really went in on the writing and Kim Kardashian’s acting, calling it one of the worst shows ever. But honestly? People were still watching, which is kind of wild!
