‘Zootopia 2’ Aims to Rule 2025 With Massive Box Office Opening

Everyone is already excited for Zootopia 2, and it’s expected to be a major hit when it comes out in 2025. Industry reports suggest the movie could earn over $125 million in its first five days in the US and Canada, released over Thanksgiving. If that happens, it would be the biggest opening weekend of any movie released in the country so far this year.

The film’s biggest opening weekend numbers might actually come from outside North America. According to industry insider @BoxOfficeMojo, it’s predicted to have a very strong debut in China.

According to one report, the movie sequel is predicted to make over $200 million in its opening weekend and potentially exceed $500 million globally within its first few days. While these figures haven’t been officially verified, they demonstrate the significant anticipation surrounding the film.

However, China is forecast to be its biggest market, with potential opening day earnings of $37 to $42 million and an opening weekend exceeding $200 million!

The team behind the first Zootopia movie is back for the sequel, with Jared Bush and Byron Howard directing and Bush writing the screenplay. The original voice cast – including Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, and Shakira – all returned, and they were joined by new actors like Ke Huy Quan, Andy Samberg, Fortune Feimster, David Strathairn, Patrick Warburton, and Quinta Brunson. In this installment, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde take on a new, undercover case centered around a puzzling new reptile resident.
