As a huge anime fan, I was thrilled to see that the eighth episode of My Hero Academia‘s final season, “Izuku Midoriya Rising,” just hit a major milestone! It’s officially the highest-rated TV episode of 2025 on IMDb, scoring an incredible 9.9 out of 10. It’s definitely a must-watch for any fan of the series.
This episode, the 167th in the series, brings a thrilling and heartfelt end to a truly memorable storyline.
This episode features a showdown between Deku and his rival, Shigaraki, coinciding with All For One’s return to take back what he wants.
Deku receives help from Aizawa and other heroes as the battle reaches its climax. The episode features a final, all-out fight where Deku teams up with his friends and classmates to defeat the villains and finally end the conflict. While saving Shigaraki might have been impossible, the episode summary highlights that Deku still achieved a victory by stopping the villains’ destructive spree.
From the start of the series, the conflict between Deku and Shigaraki has been brewing, and this episode finally delivers a powerful and emotional resolution for viewers.
Even though the big fight is finished, there’s still more to Deku and his friends’ story. The final season of My Hero Academia will continue with three additional episodes, and the very last episode will be available in Japan on December 13th.
