In a recent YouTube interview, Kevin Hart suggested that Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels were having a romantic relationship around the time of the infamous ‘Montreal Screwjob’ incident.

Bret noticed the way the two men behaved – their actions and emotional reactions – and it led him to believe there was more to their relationship than met the eye.

Bret Says He Was “Caught Between Two Lovers”

Hart claims the situation was even more complicated, suggesting he felt like a third party in a relationship between Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon. He believes Shawn was trying to take his position, and that Vince favored Shawn so much that Bret suspects Michaels and McMahon had a personal relationship to benefit Michaels’ career.

He said he would repeat it directly to both of them and has “100%” conviction in his belief.

I always felt there was something more than friendship between Shawn and Vince. I’m just being honest, but I suspected they were having an affair, and now I’m certain of it. It felt like I was caught in the middle of their relationship and ended up getting hurt because of it. Shawn was jealous of my position and it seemed like he slept with Vince to try and take it from me. I’m completely sure about this – I would say it to their faces. I wish Shawn would just admit they were lovers, because I truly believe they were. I’m 100% confident in what I’m saying.

Ties Back Into the Screwjob

Hart took the opportunity to discuss the infamous Montreal Screwjob, maintaining that he always acted with integrity and honesty towards Vince McMahon. He feels the incident was a deliberate, pre-planned attempt to damage his reputation.

He explained that the infamous ‘Screwjob’ was planned by individuals who disrespected him. What ultimately made him unwilling to lose the championship to Shawn Michaels was Michaels’ assurance that he wouldn’t return the favor.

Hart explained that this situation completely shattered any remaining trust between them. He also believes a secret relationship existed, which strengthens his understanding of what happened.

Controversial Comments Will Hit WWE History Hard

Bret Hart’s recent statements are arguably the most surprising thing to come out of the Montreal Screwjob scandal. Regardless of whether people believe what he said, his words will definitely change how many view the events of that infamous night in WWE history.

He firmly believes in what he stated, maintains his honesty, and doesn’t seem willing to retract his statement.

Vince McMahon is presently out of the WWE, though rumors persist he could be making a return.
