Olivia Dean, a British singer, has spoken out against Live Nation, Ticketmaster, and AEG, saying their ticket prices for her tour are too high.
Singer Dean, whose song “Man I Need” recently became a top five hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, shared her disappointment on Instagram about ticket prices and the difficulty of preventing scalping.
She publicly criticized Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and AEG Presents, stating their service was unacceptable. She was particularly upset about the high prices of resold tickets, which she felt ignored fans’ desires and made live music unaffordable. She urged these companies to improve and find a way to make concerts accessible to everyone.
Shortly after announcing her 2026 “Art of Loving Live” tour, Dean addressed concerns about the ticket sales process. Fans experienced significant delays while trying to purchase tickets online, and many reported seeing verified tickets being resold for much higher prices.
Ticketmaster responded by sharing Olivia Dean’s post and stating they support artists’ control over how tickets are sold and resold. They announced they will limit resale prices on their platform to the original price and expressed hope that other resale sites will do the same.
According to a Ticketmaster spokesperson, resale tickets for Dean’s tour are no longer available on other ticket platforms.
This incident brings attention to continuing problems with resale ticket markets and how difficult it is for artists to ensure their concerts remain accessible to fans. Olivia Dean has publicly called on major ticketing companies to improve their practices.
