Kelsey Grammer recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight, where he discussed various aspects of his life and work.
He discussed becoming a father again at the age of 70 and expressed his continued enthusiasm for his work. He also briefly mentioned his new holiday film, The Christmas Ring. The conversation then turned to a topic fans are eager to hear about: his reprisal of the Beast role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.
Grammer wasn’t able to share much about the movie’s plot, but he enjoyed discussing how it felt to be filming again.
He shared that a highlight of this project was the opportunity to collaborate with actors he hadn’t worked with before. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he explained that while he’d frequently worked with Hugh and Halle in previous projects, and enjoyed Patrick’s role on Frasier, this time allowed for more interaction with new faces. He hinted at exciting scenes they shared, saying it was simply ‘fun to interact with people I haven’t acted with before,’ but couldn’t reveal too many details.
He shared that revisiting the role of Beast is still very meaningful to him. Grammer considers it one of his favorite roles, explaining that the character always fought for what was right and for equality, making him truly admirable. He expressed hope that he’ll have the opportunity to play Beast again in the future.
Honestly, I was really thrilled to hear that Beast will be hanging out with characters like Thor and Reed Richards. And getting to see him interact with Robert Downey Jr. sounds amazing – I mean, RDJ is such a great actor and just seems like a genuinely good guy. He’s always a highlight, so seeing them together will be fantastic.
He mentioned being in a scene with Robert Downey Jr., who played Doctor Doom, but described their interaction as brief. He also spoke highly of Pedro Pascal, saying he was a pleasure to work with and genuinely enjoyed spending time with him on set.
He playfully mentioned how excited he was to work with James Marsden, even though Marsden’s character had already died in the storyline before he himself joined the X-Men movies. Grammer chuckled, saying, “It’s good to see him alive.”
Anthony and Joe Russo are directing Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to be the next major team-up movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film features cast members from popular superhero franchises like The Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. Filming wrapped up in September, and it’s set to come out on December 18, 2026, with another movie, Secret Wars, planned for release a year after that.
