During a recent live stream, YouTuber Critical Drinker conducted a poll about Superman, and the outcome was a clear landslide.
Unlike a poll by Grace Randolph that left out many Zack Snyder supporters because she had blocked them for years, the poll conducted by Drinker wasn’t biased.
And fans made their choice immediately.

In just a few minutes, fans overwhelmingly chose the original Man of Steel over James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, with over 8,000 people watching the poll live.
With 2,191 votes tallied, a significant majority – 90% – favored Snyder’s film, while only 10% chose Gunn’s Superman.

A Poll That Actually Reflects the Audience
Unlike Randolph’s poll, where many fans who support Snyder were unable to participate, Drinker’s poll included a wide range of opinions because he didn’t block fans of the SnyderVerse. This makes Drinker’s results a more accurate reflection of the entire fandom’s views.
Because Snyder won by a large margin in a public poll, the results of Randolph’s poll – where the win was only by 1% – are essentially unreliable and don’t hold much value.

Massive Reach, Massive Signal
Critical Drinker has a large following – over 2.3 million subscribers – and his live streams are consistently popular. When he recently held a quick poll and Zack Snyder won by a landslide – 90% of the vote – it’s a strong sign of how much support there still is for Snyder among fans.
The movie Man of Steel remains popular, particularly as excitement for the SnyderVerse grows on social media and around the world.
We’re told when WBD is sold that the SnyderVerse will return.

The Box Office Shows Fans Picked Snyder Long Before These Polls
Okay, so the numbers are in, and they pretty much match what we were seeing in fan reactions. James Gunn’s Superman brought in a worldwide total of $616.6 million, which is a solid number, but noticeably less than Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel made back in 2013 – that film hit $670.1 million. It’s clear Man of Steel still holds a stronger place with audiences, at least financially.
When accounting for inflation, Man of Steel earned almost $1 billion—a huge difference that highlights the strong worldwide appeal of Zack Snyder’s take on Superman.
I’ve noticed a big difference in how Snyder’s films do overseas compared to Gunn’s. Man of Steel really took off internationally, especially in China, while Gunn’s movie didn’t quite gain the same traction there. It seems like international audiences were a huge part of what made Snyder’s DC films successful, and they still really respond to his vision for these characters. It’s clear they continue to show a lot of support for his work in that market.
