Some TV shows just seem to have it easy, especially those connected to popular franchises like Game of Thrones. It’s almost as if they’re getting a boost from their family name! HBO recently announced that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been renewed for a second season, even before the first season has aired! The second season is expected in 2027, and the first will premiere on January 18, 2026, at 10 pm ET/PT. If true, this means a surprisingly quick turnaround – only a year between seasons. HBO also confirmed that House of the Dragon will return for a fourth season in 2028. That means fans can expect a Game of Thrones related show every year through 2028 – that’s quite a commitment!
Francesca Orsi, Head of HBO Drama, announced that both A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will return for a second season and House of the Dragon for a fourth. She expressed excitement about continuing to expand the world of Game of Thrones for its dedicated fans. Orsi highlighted that the new season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, arriving in January, will offer an inspiring story, while House of the Dragon will return this summer with even more spectacular battles.

Based on the Dunk & Egg novellas by G.R.R. Martin, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a new series set in the world of Westeros. It tells a charming story about an unlikely pair and will have a different feel than House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones. We’ve also gotten a first look at the series with some newly released images, which you can find in this article.
Huge news for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – it’s been renewed for a second season already! That’s a fantastic outcome that many TV shows can only dream of.
