Ariana Grande Shows Off Her Magical Wand Skills on ‘Jimmy Fallon’

I was totally blown away watching Ariana Grande on The Tonight Show! She was there talking about her new movie, Wicked: For Good, where she plays Glinda, and she showed off some amazing wand work – it was seriously impressive!

During the interview, Jimmy Fallon playfully asked Ariana Grande if she could do a flip using a fairy wand. She seemed surprised when he handed her a sparkly pink one, and responded that she could try, but hadn’t practiced in about three and a half years. Fallon immediately reassured her, saying he didn’t want to put her on the spot.

Even though it was difficult, Ariana confidently stood up and did a flip with her wand, managing to avoid bumping into anything. The audience cheered – she made it look effortless!

Wicked: For Good is the follow-up film to the 2024 movie Wicked, sometimes called Wicked: Part Two. Jon M. Chu directed the film, and Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox wrote the script. It continues the story of Glinda and Elphaba, originally told in the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman, which itself was based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel – a fresh take on the classic story of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

As a huge cinema fan, I’m so excited about the upcoming film! Ariana Grande is back as Glinda, and she’s joined by an incredible cast including Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. Plus, Colman Domingo is joining the fun! It’s a story set in Oz, and it’s all about how Glinda and Elphaba become the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West – a really interesting look at their journeys to becoming those iconic characters.

Filming was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2023 actors’ strike. The main filming took place in England from December 2022 to January 2024. Wicked: For Good had its first showing on November 4th in São Paulo, Brazil, and will be released in the U.S. on November 21st. Reviews have been mostly positive, though not quite as strong as those for the original film.
