Where Winds Meet offers a detailed character creation process. You have a lot of control over how your character looks, with more customization options than many other games currently offer.
It’s odd that even with detailed character customization options, like Smart Customization, you can’t actually change your character’s hair color. This seems out of place given how thorough the character creation process is.
Fortunately, you can still change your character’s hair color, but it requires some extra effort and might cost you some money.
Can You Change Your Hair Color in Where Winds Meet?

You can change your hair color in Where Winds Meet, but you’ll need to purchase special items from the in-game store. These items are called Timeless Hairdye and Inkshade Hairdye, and you’ll also need specific clothing to use them.
Okay, so when I’m customizing my character, I’ve figured out the hair dye system. Basically, there are two types: Timeless dye is for really vibrant, bright colors, and Inkshade is what you use if you want something more muted, like pastels. In the character creator, they just show up as ‘Basic’ and ‘Advanced’ dyes, which isn’t super clear, but now I get it!
In Where Winds Meet, not all hairstyles can be changed to different colors. If a hairstyle’s icon has a small color square on it, that means you can dye it. If you don’t see the color square, the hairstyle can’t be dyed.
Don’t bother trying to change your hair color using the game’s customization options or by creating a new character – neither of those will work. Instead, you can buy pre-dyed hairstyles with Elegance Points, which you earn by changing your appearance, dyeing hair, and completing set collections.
How to Get Hairdye in Where Winds Meet
Okay, so if you want to get that awesome hair dye, you’ll need to head to the Currency Exchange. It’s pretty easy – just open up the main menu, and then choose the “draw” option. That’ll take you to where you can get it!
To access the Exchange Shop, first select “Solemn Echo” from the menu on the left. Then, choose the “Exchange Shop” option on the right. Here, you can trade your Essence of Earth for items like hairdye.
If you need Essence of Earth, you can get it by using the draw feature. This will give you different items you can then trade in the exchange shop.
How to Dye Your Hair in Where Winds Meet
Okay, so I finally got my hands on the hairdye in Where Winds Meet, and now I can actually change my hair color! It’s pretty simple – you just go into the game’s menu, then find the appearance section. From there, you pick a hairstyle and then select the color I unlocked. It’s awesome!
After completing that step, select the “Dye” button located in the bottom right corner. You’ll then be asked if you want to use basic or advanced dyeing.
Once you’ve picked your desired hair color, select the ‘save’ button to apply the dye. Remember, it takes 10 dyes to change your hair color.
