Jason Isaacs Supports On-Screen Son Tom Felton’s Return as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter Broadway: ‘So Proud’

The world of Harry Potter continues to grow, and the cast is still very close. Tom Felton, best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the films, made his first appearance on Broadway, receiving a warm welcome from the audience. This stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a new chapter for him after years of playing the character on screen during the films’ huge success. Jason Isaacs, who played his father in the movies, was there to support him, and the three actors who have played the Malfoy family were photographed together for the first time.

It was so heartwarming to see Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy, share such a lovely message about Tom Felton, our Draco! He posted on Instagram about watching Tom really become Draco on screen, and how proud he was. Jason wrote about Tom ‘bursting the seams’ of the expectations set by his father’s character, and how brave he was – it honestly made my day! He shared a behind-the-scenes photo with his followers, and it just showed what a supportive relationship they have. It’s moments like these that remind you how special the Harry Potter cast really is.

It was such a special moment seeing Tom Felton – who I’ve always thought of as the perfect Lucius Malfoy – with Jason Isaacs, and their ‘son’ Aidan Close, who plays Scorpius! They posted this adorable picture with the hashtag ‘Blondes have more fun,’ a nod to that iconic platinum hair. Tom’s comment totally melted my heart – he wrote ‘Thanks for coming dad. Ive never been prouder to be a Malfoy x,’ and it just highlighted how much they all embrace their roles and the connection between them. I mean, seeing them hug on stage was incredible, and the video of their final bow, with the crowd erupting in applause, was just… magical. It really felt like the Malfoy family was right there with us!

Meanwhile, Tom Felton will be playing Draco Malfoy on Broadway for a total of 26 weeks.
