Billie Eilish, the popular singer, recently spoke out against Elon Musk after reports suggested he could become the first person in the world to have a trillion dollars. She expressed her opinion in a strong, expletive-filled message on Instagram.
The disagreement comes after Tesla owners voted in favor of a plan that could potentially make Elon Musk a trillionaire if the company performs well over the next decade.
If Tesla achieves its ambitious goals, the company could be worth $8.5 trillion, making Elon Musk a part-owner of roughly 25%. These goals include attracting 10 million subscribers to its self-driving technology and selling one million of its humanoid robots. At a recent meeting with investors, Musk explained this vision as a complete reinvention of Tesla, not just a small step forward.
Billie Eilish shared a post supporting the My Voice, My Choice campaign, which encouraged Elon Musk to donate his money to help people around the world.
The campaign proposed a $40 billion yearly investment to combat hunger, $10 billion each year for the next century to vaccinate newborns, and $53.2 billion for the reconstruction of Gaza. During the presentation, Eilish strongly criticized Elon Musk, using highly offensive language to call him a coward.
Musk responded briefly on X, writing about Eilish, “She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.”

This back-and-forth demonstrates the increasing friction between famous people and the very wealthy regarding their fortunes and obligations. It also illustrates how quickly these public disputes can play out on social media.
