More people will soon be able to experience Red Dead Redemption and its zombie expansion, Undead Nightmare. It’s becoming available to Netflix members, on mobile devices, and on the latest gaming consoles.
Rockstar Games announced that the games will launch on December 2nd. Current owners will receive free updates, and the games will feature improved graphics and performance.
These updated versions allow players to continue John Marston’s story immediately following the conclusion of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The core Red Dead Redemption experience follows John Marston as he tries to leave his life of crime behind. The Undead Nightmare expansion throws a terrifying spin on things, challenging players to survive a zombie apocalypse. Both the original game and the expansion include all the single-player story content and extras from the Game of the Year Edition.
As a huge Red Dead Redemption fan, I’m so excited that they’re bringing the game to mobile! It’s coming to both iOS and Android with controls designed for playing on the go, which is awesome. And even better, if you’re a Netflix subscriber, you can download and play it all as part of your subscription – on the same day it comes out! It’s going to be amazing to experience Marston’s story anywhere, anytime.
The game runs incredibly smoothly on new consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, offering gameplay at 60 frames per second. You’ll also experience better graphics, support for HDR, and resolutions up to 4K.
The Nintendo Switch 2 versions are optimized for the new hardware, offering features like DLSS, HDR visuals, and even mouse support, all while maintaining a consistently smooth gameplay experience. If you already own the game on PS4, Xbox One, or the original Switch, you can upgrade to the Switch 2 version at no cost, and your existing game progress will be saved and transferred.
Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games helped create these new versions of the game. They’ll be added to the GTA+ Games Library and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog starting December 2nd.
