It tells the story of Odysseus’s ten-year journey home after the Trojan War, filled with dangerous obstacles and legendary creatures. This month, Empire magazine offers a special preview of Christopher Nolan’s film adaptation. The cover features a striking image of Odysseus, with the massive Trojan horse looming behind him – and it’s an actual prop used in the movie! Christopher Nolan is producing his new film with his wife, Emma Thomas. The movie, inspired by the epic story of The Odyssey, boasts a star-studded cast led by Matt Damon as Odysseus. Joining him are Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Mia Goth, Zendaya, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Samantha Morton, Ryan Hurst, Logan Marshall-Green, Lupita Nyong’o, Josh Stewart, Benny Safdie, Corey Hawkins, and Elyes Gabel.
In a recent interview with Empire, Matt Damon highly praised director Christopher Nolan, calling the experience of working with him “the best of his career.” Nolan himself told Empire that the film’s story will be more ambitious than anything he’s done before, and they filmed an incredible two million feet of footage.

Based on early information, Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey, could be his most ambitious project to date. Created specifically for the immersive IMAX experience, it reimagines the classic story in a completely new way. The Odyssey will premiere in theaters on July 17, 2026.
