The cast of Critical Role is teaming up for a new adventure based on Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive books. Brotherwise Games created the campaign, called “Echoes of the Father,” and Jasper Cartwright, a player from Critical Role’s “The Re-Slayer’s Take,” will lead the game. A group of well-known actors and personalities will be joining the game master for a new, exciting adventure. Abubakar Salim, known for Raised By Wolves, will play the role of Salim, the son of the timid Highprince Roion. Jacqueline Emerson, Jane Douglas from Oxventure, and Mark/Mara Hulmes of Critical Role are also joining the cast. This isn’t the first time this group has played together – they previously collaborated on the Candela Obscura game, “Thresher.” Players will dress in costumes fitting their characters, and the game will feature stunning visuals to create a truly immersive experience.
“Working with such a talented team, having access to incredible resources, and receiving the full support of Brotherwise has been a career highlight,” said Cartwright in a statement. “I’ve become completely captivated by the world of Roshar and the Cosmere RPG, and I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve accomplished together.”
The story takes place in the Shattered Plains, a dangerous land ravaged by war and filled with monsters. Players will face tough challenges as they try to find the Shardblade, a powerful magical sword that the most skilled warriors of Roshar desire. Sanderson’s Cosmere RPG achieved record-breaking success on Kickstarter, becoming the highest-funded tabletop game ever. “Echoes of the Father” offers a complete story on its own, though future developments hinted at by the oracle remain to be seen. Exciting new projects are planned to further develop the immersive world of Sanderson’s Cosmere, and fans can look forward to the Mistborn books arriving in 2026.
