The newest movie in the Now You See Me franchise, titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, will be released in US cinemas on November 14th by Lionsgate.
Ruben Fleischer directed the film, and the screenplay was penned by Michael Lesslie, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Seth Grahame-Smith. The story itself was created by Michael Lesslie and Eric Warren Singer.
This movie is the third installment in the series, continuing the story directly after the events of 2016’s Now You See Me 2. The film brings back familiar stars like Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, and Morgan Freeman, and introduces new cast members including Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike.
The Four Horsemen are back together for an ambitious new heist. They team up with three talented illusionists to steal a massive, incredibly valuable diamond from a dangerous crime family.
Mark Ruffalo reprises his role as Dylan Rhodes, a past FBI agent who leads a clandestine group called the Eye. Rosamund Pike plays the main antagonist, Veronika Vanderberg, a powerful and ruthless crime boss.

Initial reviews are in for the film, and it currently has a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 16 reviews. Critics seem to be somewhat divided, with many appreciating the series’ signature humor and exciting action scenes.

If you’re not expecting much and aren’t thinking too hard, you’ll probably enjoy it.

Look, I’m a big fan of this series because it doesn’t take itself too seriously – I love the playful magic and even the silly humor. This new installment delivers exactly that, and honestly, I’m hoping they keep making these just for the pure enjoyment of it all!
Rachel Leishman
It wasn’t quite magic, but the movie felt wonderfully captivating. Let’s definitely make four more!
Kate Erbland
The movie still includes plenty of exciting action sequences and fun magic tricks.
Glenn Garner
Honestly, this movie felt very familiar – more of the same from the series, and while the actors did a great job, it couldn’t really hide how over-the-top things got. But hey, if you’re looking for something completely silly and don’t mind a bit of ridiculousness, who am I to judge? Everyone deserves a little fun!

However, many reviewers noted the movie felt unoriginal. Some found it less exciting than earlier installments, missing the lively spirit that made the first film so enjoyable.
Reviewers felt the movie wasn’t as enjoyable as they’d hoped, especially when Rosamund Pike’s character wasn’t present. While the director, Ruben Fleischer, maintained a fast pace, the film ultimately struggled to break free from the constraints of the series as a whole.
Surprisingly, its biggest flaw is managing to be even more boring than the previous versions.
Nick Schager
While the first Now You See Me movie delighted audiences with its unexpected twists and over-the-top style, the new film, Now You Don’t, feels predictable and lacks the same energy and fun.
Sarah-Tai Black
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” doesn’t quite live up to expectations, especially when Morgan Freeman’s character isn’t present. Despite the film suggesting we all crave a little magic, it ultimately feels like there wasn’t enough of it to truly captivate.
Moira MacDonald
Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and other familiar faces team up with newcomer Dominic Sessa in a complicated story that relies heavily on fond memories, but feels ultimately empty.
Gregory Nussen
Director Ruben Fleischer maintains a fast pace throughout the film. However, despite being released almost a decade after the previous installment, ‘Now You Don’t’ doesn’t overcome the inherent weaknesses of the series.
Tim Grierson
Most reviewers believe fans of the series will still enjoy this installment, but those hoping for something new or a more complex story might not be as impressed.
