If you’re planning to explore the crypt in the Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it’s a good idea to craft some aromatic oils first. They’ll protect you from dangerous fumes you might encounter. Here’s how to make them.
How to brew aromatic oils in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To be aromatic oils, you will need to use the alchemy bench that can be found in the small room at the rear of the infirmary. You can get the recipe for the aromatic oils by going to the library and talking to Crispin, and trading him some mint and sage for them. Read the book that he recommends to get the recipe, although you should know that it will be called “Essential Oils” in the book.
Next, you’ll need to collect chamomile, sage, and valerian. You can find these herbs in the garden east of the infirmary. Once you’ve gathered them all, go back to the alchemy table and follow these instructions.
- Open the alchemy book and navigate to the recipe for aromatic oils.
- Hold E to prepare the ingredients, which places them in pouches on the shelf to your right hand.
- Take the pot of oil on the left and pour it into the cauldron.
- Take three handfuls of chamomile and drop them into the cauldron.
- Lower the cauldron onto the flames, and wait for it to boil.
- As soon as it boils, turn the timer upside down. Let the sand flow through, then repeat that twice more for a total of three times.
- Raise the cauldron back up.
- Take a handful of sage, put it in the mortar, then grind it with the pestle.
- Add the ground sage to the cauldron.
- Lower the cauldron, wait for it to boil, then turn the timer upside down.
- Raise the cauldron as soon as the sand has emptied.
- Take a handful of valerian, grind it in the mortar, then add it to the cauldron.
- Take one of the vials on the left and interact with the cauldron to pour out the aromatic oils.
