I recently saw Cyrus Nowrasteh’s new film, and it’s a really compelling true story. It’s based on the book about Sarah Rector, an incredible young woman who was known as “the richest Black girl in America” back in the day. Naya Desir-Johnson is fantastic in the lead role, and the supporting cast, including Zachary Levi, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Garret Dillahunt, are all great too. It was produced by Kingdom Story Company and released by Amazon MGM Studios.
