‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Tops Peacock’s Top 10 Most-Watched Movies List This Week

Peacock’s most popular movies this week offer something for everyone – from thrilling dinosaur adventures and historical dramas to fun animated films and beloved Christmas favorites. If you’re looking for a movie to watch or just curious about what’s trending, here’s a list of the ten titles people are currently enjoying the most.

10. ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ (2025)

As a huge fan of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, I was really excited to see the live-action remake! Dean DeBlois, who brilliantly directed the original animated film, is back at the helm for this one. It retells the story of Hiccup, a young Viking who lives on the island of Berk, and how he secretly becomes friends with a rare dragon he names Toothless. It’s amazing to watch him challenge everything his people believe about dragons being dangerous. The new cast is fantastic, with Mason Thames as Hiccup and Nico Parker as Astrid, and it was great to see Gerard Butler reprise his role as Stoick. Plus, Nick Frost, Julian Dennison, and a bunch of other talented actors round out the supporting cast. The movie stays pretty true to the original story, but they’ve really expanded on the flying scenes and made the emotional moments even more impactful. After doing well in theaters, it landed as a Peacock exclusive, and they’ve added it to a whole collection that includes all three animated films and some cool bonus content, which is perfect for a marathon!

9. ‘Despicable Me 2’ (2013)

‘Despicable Me 2’ picks up Gru’s story after he’s given up being a villain. Now, he’s working with the Anti-Villain League to find a dangerous stolen formula. Alongside his new partner, Lucy Wilde, Gru goes undercover at a mall, trying to figure out which shop owner is the powerful villain, El Macho. He’s also busy raising his three daughters, Margo, Edith, and Agnes. The movie features the returning voices of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, and Russell Brand, with new additions Benjamin Bratt, Steve Coogan, and Ken Jeong. ‘Despicable Me 2’ was a huge animated hit, and the entire ‘Despicable Me’ series is available to stream on Peacock for those who want to watch it from the beginning.

8. ‘The Cat in the Hat’ (2003)

Bo Welch directed ‘The Cat in the Hat,’ a live-action comedy based on the beloved Dr. Seuss book. When their mother is away, the mischievous Cat, played by Mike Myers, visits siblings Conrad and Sally and turns their neat home upside down with wacky and imaginative chaos. The movie also stars Alec Baldwin, Kelly Preston, Dakota Fanning, and Spencer Breslin, and features vibrant sets and elaborate costumes and makeup. It was the final live-action Dr. Seuss adaptation; the estate later decided to focus on animated films following the movie’s reviews.

7. ‘Despicable Me’ (2010)

‘Despicable Me’ is a funny animated movie made by Illumination and directed by Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin. The story centers around Gru, a villain who plans to steal the Moon, and unexpectedly becomes a father to three orphaned girls. This changes his plans and his heart. The film also introduces the Minions, Gru’s little yellow helpers, who quickly became popular characters in their own right, appearing in several movies and spin-offs. Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Kristen Wiig, and Julie Andrews are among the voice actors. ‘Despicable Me’ was a big hit in theaters, launching a successful series of films that are now featured on Peacock, including the ‘Minions’ movies.

6. ‘The Croods’ (2013)

‘The Croods’ is a funny and exciting animated adventure movie made by DreamWorks. Directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco, it’s set in a made-up prehistoric time and follows the Crood family. When their cave is destroyed, the family, led by their overprotective father Grug, has to venture into a new and unfamiliar world. They encounter Guy, a clever traveler whose innovative ideas challenge Grug’s traditional way of thinking and change how the family survives. The film features the voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, and others. ‘The Croods’ became very popular, leading to a series called ‘Dawn of the Croods’, a streaming show on Peacock called ‘The Croods: Family Tree’, and a sequel, ‘The Croods: A New Age’.

5. ‘Jurassic Park’ (1993)

Directed by Steven Spielberg, ‘Jurassic Park’ is a thrilling science fiction adventure adapted from Michael Crichton’s novel. The story centers on John Hammond, a wealthy entrepreneur who tries to open a dinosaur theme park on a remote island. Using advanced genetic engineering to bring cloned dinosaurs to life, Hammond’s dream quickly turns into a dangerous fight for survival when the park’s security systems fail, endangering visiting scientists and guests. The film is famous for its groundbreaking visual effects, combining realistic animatronics with then-new computer graphics, and revolutionized sound design. A massive box office success, ‘Jurassic Park’ spawned a hugely popular franchise – including the ‘Jurassic World’ series – with many films now available to stream on Peacock alongside ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’.

4. ‘The Grinch’ (2018)

Illumination’s ‘The Grinch’ is a family-friendly animated movie based on the classic Dr. Seuss story. Benedict Cumberbatch provides the voice for the Grinch, who tries to ruin Christmas for the residents of Whoville. However, his plans are complicated by a young girl named Cindy-Lou Who and her family. The film has a bright, modern animation style, gives a big role to the Grinch’s dog Max, and introduces new characters to bring Whoville to life. You can often find it streaming on Peacock as part of their holiday selections, alongside other versions of ‘The Grinch’, offering both animated and live-action choices.

3. ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ (2000)

Ron Howard’s live-action film, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas,’ brings Dr. Seuss’ beloved story to life with Jim Carrey playing the Grinch. The movie follows the Grinch, a grumpy, isolated creature who lives on Mount Crumpit overlooking Whoville, as he tries to ruin Christmas by stealing all the town’s festive decorations, gifts, and food. The film adds to the original story by showing the Grinch’s past and his relationship with the people of Whoville, like Mayor May Who and Martha May Whovier. Known for its detailed sets, Carrey’s extensive makeup, and the large-scale creation of Whoville, it’s a popular choice for holiday viewing on Peacock.

2. ‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ (2025)

‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ is the third and last film in the popular ‘Downton Abbey’ series. Directed by Simon Curtis and written by the show’s creator, Julian Fellowes, the movie is set in the early 1930s and follows the Crawley family as they face money troubles, changing times, and Robert passing leadership on to his daughter, Mary. Mary is also navigating a public scandal related to her divorce. The film brings back much of the original cast, including Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, and Elizabeth McGovern, with Paul Giamatti and Dominic West also returning. Produced by Carnival Films and initially released in theaters by Focus Features, it’s now available on Peacock as a final farewell to the beloved ‘Downton Abbey’ story.
