Quentin Tarantino’s epic action film, Kill Bill, will be shown in its complete, four-hour form in theaters starting December 5th. Previously, fans could only see the movie in two parts (Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2). This new release from Lionsgate offers a single, uninterrupted, and thrilling experience. A short preview has already been released, and the full trailer is coming out today.

When Kill Bill Vol. 1 came out in October 2003, it surprised viewers with its blend of martial arts action reminiscent of Shaw Brothers films, intense thrills, and graphic violence. The follow-up, Vol. 2, released six months later, was more deliberately paced, emphasizing conversations, character building, and a style of storytelling common in Westerns. Despite receiving widespread praise individually, Quentin Tarantino always intended for both films to be experienced as a single, unified work.
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair presents the complete story in one film. It maintains the intense action and violence of the first part, along with the distinctive dialogue, strong characters, and Western-style storytelling that director Quentin Tarantino is known for.
I’m so excited to hear there’s even more to discover! Apparently, they’ve added a roughly 7 and a half minute animated segment that dives deeper into the backstory of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad – you know, the group Beatrix Kiddo used to be a part of. From what I’ve read on Cartoon Brew, it’s supposed to be just as visually stunning as O-Ren Ishii’s incredible origin story from the first movie, and I can hardly wait to see it!
Like he did with his 70mm version of The Hateful Eight, Tarantino has included a 10-minute break in the middle of the movie to give viewers a chance to move around and get refreshments. Lionsgate explained that this break also helps audiences adjust to the change in mood between the first and second parts of the film, making the whole experience feel more like a special event.
The film will be shown in a few theaters using classic 35mm and 70mm film formats, highlighting the immersive cinematic experience Quentin Tarantino prefers. This will give fans a unique opportunity to see Kill Bill the way he originally envisioned it: a lengthy, powerful, and visually stunning homage to the films he loves.
