Fans have wanted this actor in the role for ages, and it’s now been confirmed! Most people think Xolo is a perfect fit.

As a huge fan of One Piece, I’m always excited to talk about Portgas D. Ace. He’s such a pivotal character! Beyond being an incredibly powerful pirate with that amazing Fire-Fire Fruit ability, he’s Luffy’s brother, and their connection is at the heart of so much of the story. Anyone who’s seen the anime or read the manga knows just how impactful – and often heartbreaking – Ace’s scenes are, so imagining a new take on him is really thrilling.

Xolo Maridueña is quickly becoming a well-known actor. He first gained recognition for his role as Miguel Diaz in the series Cobra Kai, and recently starred as Jaime Reyes in the movie Blue Beetle. He’s also lent his voice to several popular animated shows, including Invincible, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, and Fast & Furious Spy Racers.

Following the recent announcement of Cole Escola, a Tony Award winner, as Bon Clay (Mr. 2), the live-action One Piece series is continuing to build a strong cast and production team for its third season. This suggests the show is poised to maintain its current success.
