Megyn Kelly has criticized Sydney Sweeney’s recent red carpet look, suggesting the actress’s sheer dress was inappropriate.
On Thursday’s The Megyn Kelly Show, the host discussed Sydney Sweeney’s outfit from the Variety Power of Women event the night before. Kelly, a fan of the Euphoria actress, stated she didn’t think the dress was appropriate.
Kelly has previously supported Sweeney, particularly when she faced criticism for her American Eagle campaign. However, Kelly felt this latest outfit was too revealing.
Kelly commented that the celebrity displayed her breasts, which she described as spectacular, on the red carpet. While acknowledging the celebrity’s right to do so, Kelly expressed disapproval of the sheer dress, stating it was completely see-through and revealed the celebrity’s nipples.

Kelly likened Sweeney’s revealing choices to Kim Kardashian’s style, suggesting both women reveal too much. She explained that, like Kardashian, Sweeney ‘overshares’ and then withholds something desirable – the possibility of being the one person to see something private, leaving a bit of mystery.
The host speculated that Sydney Sweeney may have been tricked into wearing the outfit, implying she might have relied on someone who gave her bad advice when choosing it. While some fans might be disappointed by the look, Kelly doesn’t think it will negatively impact Sweeney’s career.
I was so impressed when Sydney Sweeney faced criticism for that American Eagle ad earlier this year, and Kelly immediately had her back. The ad playfully changed the phrase ‘great genes’ to ‘great jeans,’ and some people online called it insensitive, saying it focused too much on a certain body type. But I really appreciated Kelly speaking up to defend Sydney – it showed a lot of support, and I thought it was a smart, fun campaign.

According to Kelly, people are accusing the model of promoting white supremacy because of her recent American Eagle ad. Kelly believes this criticism is absurd, arguing that the focus is on the model’s body type, not her race, and that those on the left are intentionally misinterpreting the ad.
Kelly stated she remains a fan of Sydney Sweeney and appreciates her work, but she didn’t approve of this specific outfit. She jokingly said, “I’m a Sydney Sweeney fan and I loved the jeans campaign, but this felt like a mistake… the visible nipple outlines were too much!”
The comments caused an online discussion, with some people believing the dress was inappropriate and others supporting Sweeney’s freedom to choose her own clothing.
