It’s hard to miss – the new trailer for Stranger Things 5 reveals Vecna looks strikingly similar to the Grinch from the Upside Down! It’s a bit eerie how much their faces match, especially the shape and nose. Even the way the vines grow on Vecna is similar to the Grinch’s fur. You have to wonder if Vecna also dislikes Christmas and has a tiny heart. Will Byers probably won’t be able to help him with that! But Vecna is about to learn that the people of Hawkins have a strength beyond anything physical as he tries to destroy their hope and happiness.
Okay, so here’s the scoop: Stranger Things 5 is dropping on Christmas Day! That basically makes part of the final season a Christmas special, right? And while How the Grinch Stole Christmas isn’t an ’80s movie – it’s from 1966 – I have a feeling the kids are always watching it. Honestly, maybe instead of getting all tangled up in Dungeons & Dragons trying to figure out how to beat Vecna, they should just hold hands and sing carols around a Christmas tree. It might be exactly what they need!
Just kidding! But thinking about holiday villains, besides Santa and Krampus, what if the Grinch teamed up with Vecna? That would be an unstoppable force! It makes you wonder… are demodogs Vecna’s version of Max? It certainly seems that way, and Dustin would probably say the same.
We doubt Vecna will successfully blend into life in Hawkins. He’s more likely to end up defeated and destroyed. The trailer for Stranger Things 5 is pretty intense, so we wanted to offer a bit of humor to balance it out.
I have a feeling the final season of Stranger Things is going to be really tough to watch, but I’m telling you now, if Vecna ends up with this huge, creepy smile, we predicted it! We saw it coming!
