Umamusume’s second career scenario, Unity Cup, gets a release date

Cygames has revealed that the new career scenario, Unity Cup: Shine On, Team Spirit, will be available for the global PC and mobile versions of Umamusume: Pretty Derby on November 6, 2025.

Unity Cup: Shine On, Team Spirit is a new addition to the game, continuing the story started in URA Finale: The Beginning – which is currently the only single-player career option.

Alongside the main Twinkle Series races, including the URA Finale: The Beginning, is a team competition called the Unity Cup. Tracen Academy enters the competition, but things get complicated when Director Akikawa has to travel for work. Her assistant, Riko Kashimoto, takes charge in her absence. Plus, we’ll be up against two new rival teams, Little Cocon and Bitter Glasse. It’s not the best timing, but we’re determined to keep training and compete anyway.

The Unity Cup has two parts – a Preseason and a Finals – with races happening twice a year. It’s similar to the Team Trials mode in the game. You pick which teams to race against, and you can choose to play it safe by competing against lower-ranked teams or take a risk by challenging highly-ranked ones. The ultimate aim is to climb the ranks and win the whole competition.

As a big fan, I’ve learned that building your team is done by collecting Support Cards throughout the game – these become the members of your trainee’s team! You can even recruit some special characters as team members if you meet them during the story – like Taiki Shuttle, Haru Urara, Rice Shower, and Matikane Fukukitaru. They’re called Scenario Link Characters, and they’re awesome additions to any team!

So, the Unity Cup isn’t just a regular event – it throws a bunch of unique scenarios and effects at you. Gameplay feels a little different too. I’ve been focusing on leveling up both my team and each individual player. The big thing is this ‘Unity Training’ – it’s the fastest way to boost everyone’s stats. And you can supercharge that with ‘Spirit Bursts,’ which are kinda like Friendship Training, giving extra stat boosts. But get this – Spirit Bursts also give you hints about special skills, even ones that are only available during this event! It’s a great way to unlock everything.

By winning races in the Unity Cup and improving your team’s clubhouse, you’ll be able to add new characters to your team.
