Next summer, Spider-Man: Brand New Day won’t be shown in IMAX theaters due to a scheduling conflict with Christopher Nolan’s new film, The Odyssey.
Culture Crave recently posted the 2026 IMAX lineup on X, revealing that the movie The Odyssey will be shown exclusively in IMAX theaters from July 17th to August 14th. This means Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which comes out on July 31st, won’t be available in IMAX format during that time.

IMAX has announced its 2026 movie lineup, starting January 23rd with the new sci-fi thriller, Mercy, starring Chris Pratt. In March, audiences can look forward to The Bride! and Project Hail Mary, and then The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael in April.
Our summer lineup kicks off on May 8th with Mortal Kombat II, followed by The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22nd. Then, we’ll show Toy Story 5 on June 19th, Supergirl on June 26th, Minions 3 on July 1st, Moana on July 10th, and The Odyssey on July 17th.
According to sources, The Odyssey is groundbreaking as the first movie ever filmed entirely using IMAX’s 70 mm film cameras. Because of this, IMAX is giving the film a month-long exclusive run in that format, which means the release of the next Spider-Man movie in IMAX will be delayed.
Even though Tom Holland isn’t continuing his role in Marvel films, he’s landed a big part in a new movie called The Odyssey. He’ll play Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, who will be played by Matt Damon. The film is based on the famous ancient Greek story.
Moviegoers won’t be able to see the complete IMAX version of the Spider-Man film next summer, but Tom Holland will still be on screen.
