Remedy Entertainment’s recent financial results for the third quarter were disappointing, as anticipated following their CEO’s departure. Revenue fell by 32% compared to last year, and the company reported an operating loss of €16.4 million, a significant increase from the €2.4 million loss reported during the same period last year.
The disappointing news is largely due to Firebreak, the cooperative shooter the company launched earlier this year. Unfortunately, it didn’t sell well, and even recent improvements have only led to small increases in sales.
Although we’re still planning some minor updates for the game, the team is now focusing its efforts on our other projects currently being developed.
Good news is, sales are up for the company’s current games, Control and Alan Wake.
The company acknowledged recent financial results haven’t been ideal, but expressed optimism that strong, popular games will drive them back to profitability.
Currently, Remedy Entertainment is working on one unannounced project in its early stages of development, in addition to Control 2 and the planned remakes of Max Payne 1 & 2 for Rockstar Games.
