The fourth campaign of Critical Role started with a large cast – a total of thirteen players! That’s too many for a traditional Dungeons & Dragons game, so they decided to try a “West Marches” style campaign. This means the players are split into smaller groups, each with their own adventures, but their stories all connect and affect each other. Before the campaign even began, Game Master Brennan Lee Mulligan announced that Critical Role would be using this format, dividing the players into three groups: the Soldiers, the Seekers, and the Schemers. We met the Soldiers in episode three, and Critical Role introduced the Seekers and Schemers through a special featurette. Now, let’s take a look at who’s playing at the Schemers’ Table – there are some unexpected faces!
Who Is Part of the Schemers’ Table In Critical Role Campaign 4?
The Schemers’ Table in Critical Role Campaign 4 features four characters: Halandil Fang, played by Liam O’Brien; Bolaire Lathalia, played by Taliesin Jaffe; Azune Nayar, played by Luis Carazo; and Murray Mag’nesson, played by Marisha Ray.
We anticipated Murray and Bolaire joining the group, but we’re surprised to see Azune and Hal involved!
What Does It Mean to Be Part of the Schemers‘ Table?

Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Game Master, emphasizes that what unites players at a particular table isn’t necessarily the kind of characters they play, but rather their preferred style of gameplay. However, joining the Schemers table in Critical Role Campaign 4 does suggest a certain personality type. According to Mulligan, the Schemers’ table focuses heavily on intrigue, spying, secret plots, and complex relationships – both with each other, with other characters in the world, and with powerful organizations. Their adventures are all about stealth and deception, and they’ll face enemies even in their own communities, who are already plotting against them.

We’re excited to see what kind of shenanigans the Schemers get up to together.
What Has Brought the Members of the Schemers‘ Table Together?
Looking at all the groups in Critical Role Campaign 4, the characters at the Schemers’ Table seem the least connected to each other. While they all have some link to Thjazi Fang, they don’t share a common goal like the Soldiers, or a defining past event like the Seekers.
All the characters in the story share a strong connection to the fate of Dol-Makjar. Halandil Fang has created his ideal performance venue and wants his loved ones to enjoy it. Murray Mag’nesson has found a home at the Penterveral magic school in Dol-Makjar and wants to protect it from interference. Azune Nayar, a member of Dol-Makjar’s security force, feels fulfilled by serving and protecting its people. And Boliare Lathalia, who exists as a mask, is experiencing genuine life for the first time as a curator at the Archanade, a magical museum where he’s finally found a place to belong.
The shared history with Dol-Makjar creates a bond between the members of the Schemers’ Table, giving them a foundation to build on as they continue their adventures in Critical Role Campaign 4.
Where Will the Schemers‘ Table Campaign Episodes Take Place?
It’s still unclear where the Schemers’ Table will be located for their next story. However, we believe they’ll likely stay in Dol-Makjar throughout the adventures of Critical Role Campaign 4.
What Will the Schemers‘ Table Plot Consist of in Critical Role Campaign 4?

We don’t have official details about where the Schemers’ Table storyline will lead in Critical Role Campaign 4. However, we believe it will likely focus on exposing and eliminating the corruption within Dol-Makjar and its governing bodies. We expect the Schemers’ Table will play a key role in uncovering the widespread corruption within the Sundered Houses, which is currently affecting much of Dol-Makjar.
What Episodes of Critical Role Campaign 4 Do the Schemers’ Table Appear In?
The Schemers’ Table has been visible, though unofficially, in every episode of Critical Role Campaign 4 so far – that includes episodes one through four.
