From the beginning, everyone knew Critical Role Campaign 4 would be a unique Dungeons & Dragons campaign played in a “West Marches” style. This meant the 13 players would divide into three smaller groups—the Soldiers, the Seekers, and the Schemers—each with their own storylines that would intersect and impact the others. Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Game Master, announced this setup early on. We learned who was on the Soldiers team in episode three, and episode four served as an introduction to all the characters. However, we didn’t find out who would be part of the Seekers or Schemers until a surprise reveal. Critical Role released a “Meet the Characters” video that announced the full rosters for all three groups. And when it came to the Seekers, the lineup was exactly what fans had been hoping for.
Who Is Part of the Seekers’ Table In Critical Role Campaign 4?
The group known as the Seekers, featured in Critical Role Campaign 4, consists of characters played by Matt Mercer (Sir Julien Davinos), Aabria Iyengar (Thaisha Lloy), Alex Ward (Occtis Tachonis), and Ashley Johnson (Vaelus).
What Does It Mean to Be Part of the Seekers’ Table?
You know, like with the ‘Soldiers’ Table’ in Campaign 3, being at the ‘Seekers’ Table in Campaign 4 doesn’t automatically mean the characters themselves are all about those themes – though I’m guessing it’ll definitely influence things. What Brennan Lee Mulligan explained to us is that they split the players into these tables based on what kind of gameplay they wanted to experience. It’s about playstyle, not necessarily character concept!
The Seekers are deeply connected to the story’s core mythology, the origins of magic, and the fundamental conflicts within the universe—like the balance between gods, magic, and creatures such as demons and dragons. It’s a very traditional fantasy setup.

The diverse group – including an elf, a necromancer who came back from the dead, and a druid – explains why Vaelus, Thaisha, Julien, and Occtis are members of the Seekers’ Table. These characters all seem to be searching for deeper meaning and trying to figure out the mysteries of their world. It’s clear the actors were eager to bring a truly imaginative game to life, and we can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.
What Has Brought the Members of the Seekers‘ Table Together?
The Seekers’ Table hasn’t been formally introduced in Critical Role Campaign 4 yet, but we can figure out what likely connects its members. All four Seekers fought together in the battle at Palazzo Davinos, where House Tachonis brutally attacked Houses Royce and Davinos, almost completely wiping them out. This attack was incredibly dangerous, nearly tearing a hole between the living world and the realm of the dead, and deeply affected everyone involved.
The battle included a deeply impactful moment: the death of Occtis Tachonis, which strongly bonded Thaisha, Vaelus, and Sir Julien. Though Occtis was later brought back to life through the combined magic of Bolaire, Murray, and the Stone of Nightsong – with a bit of luck from a successful dice roll – his death was a harrowing experience for everyone. Adding to the trauma, Sir Julien Davinos witnessed his own father’s murder by Primus Tachonis during an episode of Critical Role Campaign 4. These shared, difficult events forged a strong connection between the characters.
Where Will the Seekers‘ Table Campaign Episodes Take Place?
It’s still unclear where the Seekers’ Table will continue their adventures. They might stay in Dol-Makjar, or they could journey to a new location. The stories of Occtis Tachonis and Vaelus seem closely tied to the afterlife, while Sir Julien has connections to the magical realm of Faerie, suggesting we might visit more magical places soon. The lost gods from the Shapers’ War also appear to be important to these characters. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what happens next.
What Will the Seekers‘ Table Plot Consist of in Critical Role Campaign 4?

The overall story of the Seekers’ Table in Critical Role Campaign 4 is still unfolding. Both Vaelus and Occtis are searching for a deeper understanding of death. Thaisha wants to heal the land and help those she cares about, and she’s also trying to figure out why the attempt to save Thjazi Fang failed. Julien, on the other hand, seems focused on getting revenge for his father. It will be interesting to see how all these different storylines connect.
Personally, we’re rooting for a Julien and Thaisha romance. Make it happen, dice gods!

The Seeker’s Table has been featured in every episode of Critical Role Campaign 4 so far – that’s episodes 1 through 4. We’ll have to watch future episodes to see if it continues to appear.
