Demi Moore reveals details about her early life in her new memoir, Inside Out. She recounts marrying musician Freddy Moore in 1980 when she was just 18 years old – he was 12 years her senior at the time.
Their marriage ended in 1985, and in her memoir, Moore revealed she was unfaithful the night before the wedding.
She admits that the night before her wedding, instead of preparing her vows, she went to see a man she’d met while working on a film. She even left her own bachelorette party to go to his apartment. She explains this surprising choice by saying she couldn’t bring herself to discuss her doubts with the man she was marrying. The real reason, she reveals, was that she was using the wedding as a way to avoid dealing with the grief she felt after her father’s death.
She felt trapped and unable to change the direction her marriage was heading. Although she couldn’t leave, she admitted to intentionally undermining it. Following her divorce from Freddy, she went on to marry actor Bruce Willis in 1987.
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis had three daughters together: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah Belle. They divorced in 2000. In 2003, Moore began a relationship with Ashton Kutcher, who was fifteen years her junior.
In a recent New York Times interview, she described her relationship as feeling like a fresh start, a chance to relive her youth. She explained, “It was like going back in time and finally experiencing what being young felt like – and it was much more vivid with him than it ever was when I was actually in my twenties.”
Moore shared the heartbreaking news that she experienced a pregnancy loss during her relationship with Kutcher. They had named their baby girl, who they would have welcomed around six months into the pregnancy, Chaplin Ray.
