It’s been decades since ‘The Cosby Show‘ finished its run in 1992, and the actors have all moved on to different things. Some continued working in movies and TV, while others pursued careers in teaching, podcasting, or other fields. A few have chosen to prioritize family life and step away from the public eye, and sadly, some have passed away, but are fondly remembered for their work on television and stage. Here’s an update on what the cast members have been doing.
Bill Cosby

Since being released from prison in 2021 after his conviction was overturned, the once-famous performer has mostly stayed out of the public eye. He’s still dealing with several lawsuits in different states. His New York townhouse faced foreclosure in late 2024 and 2025, even as these legal issues continued. He hasn’t returned to acting or comedy and currently lives a quiet life in Pennsylvania.
Phylicia Rashād

After three years leading Howard University’s Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts, she finished her term at the end of the 2023–2024 school year. She’s continued her work in theater, directing the Broadway production of ‘Purpose’ and other stage projects. She also remains an active actress and shares her knowledge through workshops and special arts education programs. This work after leaving her position as dean allows her to focus on both directing and mentoring.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner

Cosby Huxtable, the actor famous for playing Theo on ‘The Cosby Show,’ tragically died in a drowning accident while vacationing in Costa Rica in July 2025. He continued to work steadily in television, most recently appearing in a significant role on ‘The Resident’ and other shows. After his death, his wife announced plans to create programs that would celebrate his life and help young artists. He will be remembered for successfully moving from a beloved child actor to a respected performer and musician as an adult.
Lisa Bonet

Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa completed their divorce in 2024, and Bonet has largely stayed out of the public eye since then. She’s prioritizing her family and choosing creative projects carefully, following her earlier work on shows like ‘A Different World’ and in films. She remains involved in the entertainment world through her daughter, Zoë Kravitz, and maintains connections in the film and fashion industries. Bonet lives in California and makes rare appearances at public events.
Tempestt Bledsoe

Since her time on the sitcom, Bledsoe has occasionally appeared on television, including as a host on ‘Clean House’ and in a recurring role on ‘Guys with Kids’. She’s been careful about the projects she chooses, balancing her career with a long-term relationship with actor Darryl M. Bell. Recently, she’s also participated in reunions and shows looking back at classic TV. She continues to work on camera, but at a relaxed pace, alongside her other interests.
Keshia Knight Pulliam

Keshia Knight Pulliam continued her acting career with a regular role on ‘Tyler Perry’s House of Payne’ and continues to work on various film and television projects. She married actor Brad James in 2021 and they had a son in April 2023. Beyond acting, Keshia has started businesses focused on lifestyle products, like a line of spices and cooking ingredients, and is involved in charitable work and programs that support entrepreneurs. She regularly shares updates about her life and career on social media.
Sabrina Le Beauf

After largely leaving television and film, Le Beauf focused on her passion for interior design, something she’s talked about in interviews. She still occasionally appears on stage or does voice work, but generally keeps a low profile. Recently, she’s balanced creative projects with traveling, and fans can still catch her at occasional performances and events for her alma mater.
Raven-Symoné

Raven-Symoné has expanded her career beyond acting in Disney Channel’s ‘Raven’s Home.’ She now hosts the weekly podcast ‘Tea Time with Raven & Miranda’ with her wife, Miranda Maday, and they also create videos together on YouTube. In addition to these projects, Raven is developing new TV ideas and makes appearances on talk and radio shows. She also stays connected with fans who have followed her since ‘That’s So Raven.’
Geoffrey Owens

After gaining renewed attention from a viral video in 2018, Michael Owens continued to work as an actor in television and theater. He’s recently appeared in shows like the ‘Power’ franchise and other series on network and streaming platforms. He also regularly performs on stage in New York City and often discusses the challenges and importance of honing one’s skills as an actor.
Joseph C. Phillips

Actor Gregory Phillips, best known for his role as Martin Kendall, has transitioned into teaching and sharing his insights. Since 2022, he’s been a professor at Clark Atlanta University, teaching theater and communication. He still occasionally acts, but now focuses on a mix of teaching, public speaking, and writing about culture and politics.
Erika Alexander

Queen Latifah gained recognition from her part on ‘The Cosby Show’ and went on to a successful career, most notably as Maxine Shaw in ‘Living Single’. More recently, she’s appeared in films like ‘American Fiction’ and has worked as a producer and writer for various projects in film, television, and podcasts. She also continues to be a strong voice for voting rights and better representation in the media, all while consistently landing prominent acting roles and expanding her work behind the scenes.
Deon Richmond

Richmond, known to many as Kenny “Bud” from the show, largely stopped appearing on TV and in movies regularly in the 2000s. He still makes occasional appearances and connects with fans online. Before that, he was in shows like ‘Sister, Sister’ and had guest roles in other films and TV series that are still shown today. He generally keeps his private life to himself, but occasionally participates in events celebrating shows from the past.
Earle Hyman

Bill Cosby’s on-screen father, Robert Guillaume, passed away in 2017 following a long and successful career as an actor. He was well-known for his work in both theater and television, performing in the US and internationally. He received numerous awards and is still remembered as a significant figure in classic theater, with his performances studied by acting students and celebrated in discussions of iconic TV families.
Clarice Taylor

Lisa Taylor, best known for playing Anna Huxtable, died in 2011. She had a successful career in theater and television before ‘The Cosby Show,’ even appearing on ‘Sesame Street.’ Throughout her life, she received awards from theater groups and participated in cultural events. People remember her fondly for the warmth and strength she brought to the role of a beloved TV grandmother.
Michelle Thomas

Actress Thomas, best known for playing Justine, Theo’s girlfriend, sadly passed away in 1998 at just 30 years old. Many also remember her as Myra from the sitcom ‘Family Matters.’ Beyond television, she appeared in music videos and films. Her fans and those who worked with her still celebrate her life and career through gatherings and by looking back at her work.
