It feels like streaming services are constantly raising prices, and this year has been no exception. While most price hikes from companies like Netflix and Disney+ are met with frustration, there’s one service people are surprisingly okay with: Dropout.tv. The comedy streaming service recently increased its monthly subscription by just one dollar, and subscribers are actually happy to pay it.

Dropout raised its monthly price from $5.99 to $6.99 back in April, and the response was surprisingly positive. Instead of the expected complaints, many people actually welcomed the price increase.
Okay, so I’ve been scrolling through the comments, and the reaction to this… well, it’s something. Basically, people are begging to give this company more money! One person jokingly complained about being ‘forced’ to spend more, while others were straight-up saying, ‘Take my money!’ It’s honestly wild to see so much enthusiasm – people aren’t even trying to save a buck, they just want to support this thing. It’s a really unique situation, to say the least.
You know, it’s actually pretty interesting to see people excited to pay more for something. It really highlights how much passion exists for things people truly love, and I have to give Dropout credit for recognizing that. After the amazing reaction to their last video, they’ve added a second subscription level – basically giving eager fans another way to support the content they enjoy. They announced the new tier on YouTube on October 21st.
What It Means to be a Dropout Superfan Subscriber
The new “Superfan” membership is like a special fan club for Dropout subscribers. Superfans get everything included with a standard subscription, plus extra benefits like a behind-the-scenes blog, exclusive merchandise, and priority access to live events.

Dropout started as a funny improv comedy channel on YouTube and quickly gained a following. They’ve since expanded into a streaming service, offering all their hilarious shows in one convenient location. Thanks to the support of their dedicated fans and subscribers, Dropout can now better support its creators and produce even more entertaining content, including both scripted shows and animation.
Just to clarify, Dropout isn’t requiring anyone to change their subscription. Becoming a Superfan is entirely optional. While streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ keep getting more expensive, we think this is a fair offer. You can choose to upgrade if you’d like, or stick with your current plan.
