The latest installment, officially named The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, brings back Melissa McBride as her iconic character, Carol Peletier.

I was really excited when I heard Nia Long was joining the cast as a series regular! Apparently, they’d originally planned to have her on in the first season, but things just didn’t line up. It’s great they finally made it happen – fans, including me, have been hoping for her character’s energy and the chemistry she brings since the show started.

Norman Reedus and Sean McBride are joined by a new cast including Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laïka Blanc-Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi, Adam Nagaitis, Joel de la Fuente, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, Hugo Arbués, and Candela Saitta. The series began filming in Paris in late 2022, after being developed since September 2020.

Daryl Dixon’s first season launched on September 10, 2023, consisting of six episodes. Netflix quickly picked it up for a second season, which premiered on September 29, 2024. Due to its popularity, a third season followed, debuting on September 7th, and a fourth, final season is planned, as announced in July.

This new series builds on the world of The Walking Dead, staying true to the original show’s storyline. It follows fan-favorite Daryl as he navigates a post-apocalyptic France, encountering both characters from the past and brand new dangers.
