On December 1st, Netflix will release Troll 2, a new monster movie from Norway. Directed by Roar Uthaug, it’s a follow-up to the film Troll and is reportedly the biggest movie production ever made in the Nordic region.
The movie was shot in several locations, including Trondheim, Maridalen, Jotunheimen, and Budapest.
The filmmakers decided to shoot some scenes in Budapest because suitable locations were difficult to find in Norway, according to screenwriter Espen Aukan. Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud of Motion Blur produced the film.
Get ready for a new adventure! “Troll 2” arrives on December 1st. Join Nora, Andreas, and Captain Kris as they face their biggest challenge yet – can they protect Norway from a looming threat?

The movie Troll 2 stars Ine Marie Wilmann as Nora, Kim S. Falck-Jørgensen as Andreas Isaksen, and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen as Captain Kristoffer Holm. The cast also includes Sara Khorami, Jon Ketil Johnsen, Gard B. Eidsvold, Aksel Almaas, and Trond Magnum.
I remember being so excited when the first little sneak peek of the movie dropped back in January! Then, in June, Netflix released the first real trailer, and it totally blew me away. We got a good look at the creatures and those incredible Nordic landscapes – they really seem like a huge part of the story, and honestly, they looked amazing.
Building on the success of the first film, Troll 2 offers a thrilling adventure with impressive effects and stunning Norwegian landscapes. It’s a visually ambitious and action-packed movie, standing out as a major production from the area.
