Here’s a schedule of horror releases for October 21-26, 2025. It includes movies coming to limited theaters, starting to stream, and appearing on TV, with specific dates, how you can watch them, and ratings from critics and audiences when available.
‘Thamma’ (2025)
The new Hindi horror-comedy, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, will have a limited release in theaters on Tuesday, October 21st. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal also feature in the film, which is part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. It’s directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, and will be available in Dolby formats at select theaters.
‘The Long Walk’ (2025)
I’m so excited! The new movie based on Stephen King’s book is finally coming to digital platforms this Tuesday, October 21st! Lionsgate is releasing it, so you’ll be able to rent or buy it on all the usual streaming services. It’s directed by Francis Lawrence and features a really talented young cast. It looks like the movie will be available to stream around the same time as those pay-per-view options, but it doesn’t seem like it’ll be on regular TV anytime soon.
‘Chain Reactions’ (2025)
The new documentary about the impact of ‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ starts streaming on Tuesday, October 21st. Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe and produced by Exhibit A Pictures and Exurbia Films, it was previously shown in select theaters and is being released by Dark Sky Films. The film is 1 hour and 43 minutes long and has a standard 1.85:1 aspect ratio.
‘Coyotes’ (2025)
The new comedy-horror thriller begins streaming on Tuesday, October 21st. Directed by Colin Minihan and starring Justin Long, Kate Bosworth, and Brittany Allen, the film follows a family caught between a wildfire and a pack of coyotes in the Hollywood Hills. It premiered at film festivals and had a limited theatrical release earlier in October.
‘Don’t Answer’ (2025)
The indie slasher film, written and directed by Mark S. Allen, begins streaming on Tuesday, October 21st. Released by Indican Pictures, the movie centers around a recently released convict who starts terrorizing a new town. Critics have noted the film’s small-town atmosphere and its production on a limited budget.
‘What Happened to Dorothy Bell?’ (2025)
The movie will begin streaming on Tuesday, October 21st. It’s a mystery-horror film, and early reviews are being shared online. There are no plans for it to be shown in theaters first. We’re still waiting for official details about who made the movie and who is distributing it.
‘The Elixir’ (2025)
Okay, so I’m really excited about this one! It’s an Indonesian zombie flick called something about an herbal business – basically, they accidentally create a potion that brings people back to life… as zombies, naturally. It’s directed by Kimo Stamboel, and stars Donny Damara, Mikha Tambayong, and Eva Celia. The good news is, Netflix is dropping it on Thursday, October 23rd, so mark your calendars! I’ve seen the promos and it looks wild.
‘Tenement’ (2025)
The film will have a limited release in theaters and begin streaming on Friday, October 24th. It’s a folk-horror story centered around townspeople preparing a new vessel for a sinister entity inhabiting a building. Dark Sky Films is handling the U.S. distribution, offering both theatrical and video-on-demand options. The release date and plot details have been officially confirmed by the distributor and are now appearing in listings.
‘Dream Eater’ (2025)
The film will have a limited release in theaters on Friday, October 24th. It’s a psychological horror movie that follows a filmmaker as she records her boyfriend’s disturbing sleepwalking behavior while they’re staying in a secluded cabin. The movie is shot in a realistic, documentary-style. It won’t be available to stream on the same day as its theatrical release.
‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’ (2025)
I’m so excited! The new movie is hitting select theaters on Friday, October 24th! It’s a full-length feature from MAPPA, directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and written by Hiroshi Seko – the team behind some amazing anime. The Japanese voice actors are Kikunosuke Toya and Reina Ueda, and thankfully, Toho, Sony, and Crunchyroll are teaming up to get it shown all over the world. From what I’ve read, it sounds like we’ll be seeing it in theaters before it’s available to stream, which is awesome!
‘Good Boy’ (2025)
A supernatural haunted-house story, uniquely told from a dog’s perspective, will be available to stream starting Friday, October 24th. The film, written and directed by Ben Leonberg, stars Shane Jensen, Arielle Friedman, Larry Fessenden, and Indy the dog. It previously premiered at SXSW and has been critically acclaimed with a “Certified Fresh” rating. IFC and Shudder are distributing the film.
‘Last Stop: Rocafort St.’ (2025)
A Spanish horror film, directed by Luis Prieto and starring Natalia Azahara, Javier Gutiérrez, and Valèria Sorolla, will begin streaming on Friday, October 24th. The movie centers on a worker who investigates a series of deaths linked to the Rocafort subway station in Barcelona, aided by a former police officer who has fallen from grace. It will be available on demand in the U.S. after being released in Spanish theaters in 2024.
‘Intruder’ (2025)
A new sci-fi horror film arrives on streaming services this Friday, October 24th. The movie follows an underground fighter who teams up with her father to steal a spacecraft. During their journey through deep space, they discover a deadly hidden passenger. It’s about 85 minutes long and will be available on demand.
‘The Grieving’ (2025)
A supernatural horror film will start streaming on Friday, October 24th. The story centers on a daughter who believes her deceased father’s spirit is connected to strange and frightening occurrences involving his urn. The film was directed by a team known for their independent horror work, and Gravitas Ventures will release it in the U.S. Details about the plot and distributor have recently been confirmed.
‘It: Welcome to Derry’ (2025– )
The new series kicks off on HBO on Sunday, October 26th, and will be available to stream on Max after it airs. This prequel, from Andy and Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, is set in 1962 Derry and stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as Pennywise. Initial reports suggest the story will heavily feature the Hanlon family and a historical event known as the “Black Spot.” Filmed in Ontario, new episodes will be released weekly after the premiere.
‘Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order’ (2025– )
The new series premieres on AMC on Sunday, October 26th. It’s the third installment in AMC’s ‘Immortal Universe,’ created by John Lee Hancock, and centers on the Talamasca – a hidden organization that keeps watch over witches, vampires, and other supernatural creatures.
