Peacock has a great selection of movies right now, including popular choices for families, highly-rated animated films, and a few scary movies to keep you entertained. Here’s what’s new this week, listed from newest to oldest, so you can quickly find something to watch – whether you’re in the mood for adventures with dragons, a festive caper with the Whos, or a thrilling mystery in Woodsboro.

10. ‘Scary Movie’ (2000)

‘Scary Movie’ is a funny horror film that playfully imitates popular slasher and teen thriller movies from the late 1990s. Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and written by Shawn and Marlon Wayans, along with others, the film stars Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and the Wayans brothers themselves. Released by Dimension Films, it was a huge success, topping the box office in North America and becoming popular worldwide. It also kicked off a series of spoof movies.

9. ‘Scream’ (1996)

Wes Craven’s ‘Scream’ breathed new life into horror with a suspenseful mystery focusing on high school student Sidney Prescott and a masked killer called Ghostface. The movie, written by Kevin Williamson and starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Drew Barrymore, was a big hit in theaters after being released by Dimension Films. You can now watch it on Peacock, along with other streaming services.

8. ‘M3GAN 2.0’ (2025)

‘M3GAN 2.0’ picks up where the first movie left off, continuing the story of the AI doll gone awry. The sequel focuses on new efforts to deal with M3GAN after her previous actions. Produced by Blumhouse, the film has received significant attention from critics and is scheduled for release in 2025.

7. ‘Honey Don’t!’ (2025)

Ethan Coen’s new film, ‘Honey Don’t!’, is a darkly comedic neo-noir that he wrote with Tricia Cooke. The movie features Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Evans, and Charlie Day, and boasts a score by Carter Burwell and cinematography by Ari Wegner. It first screened at the Cannes Film Festival in May and is being distributed by Focus Features domestically and Universal internationally.

6. ‘Monster House’ (2006)

‘Monster House’ is an animated movie about three kids who realize the spooky house next door is actually a living creature. It was the first film directed by Gil Kenan, and it used a special technique called performance-capture to create the characters. Dan Harmon, Rob Schrab, and Pamela Pettler wrote the story. Because it takes place during Halloween, it’s become a popular choice to watch every October.

5. ‘Corpse Bride’ (2005)

‘Corpse Bride’ is a stop-motion animated film co-directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson. The story follows a groom who mistakenly marries a bride from the land of the dead. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter provide the voices for the main characters, and Danny Elfman composed the music. Produced by Tim Burton Productions and Laika, the film was released by Warner Bros. and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature.

4. ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ (2019)

The final film in the ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ series, ‘The Hidden World’, sees Hiccup searching for a safe haven for dragons, and Toothless discovering a mysterious female dragon called the Light Fury. Dean DeBlois returns as director, and Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera reprise their voice roles. Released internationally by Universal after preview showings in the U.S., the film was a critical and commercial success.

3. ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ (2014)

“How to Train Your Dragon 2,” set years after the original, takes the story beyond Berk, introducing the character Valka and a new enemy, the dragon hunter Drago. Dean DeBlois once again directed and wrote the film, featuring voice performances from Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, and Gerard Butler. The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and became a major box office hit, later receiving accolades like a Golden Globe award.

2. ‘The Grinch’ (2018)

The animated movie ‘The Grinch,’ from Illumination, stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the grumpy Grinch, who tries to ruin Christmas for the people of Whoville. Based on Dr. Seuss’s classic 1957 book, the film shows the Grinch’s adventures with Cindy-Lou Who. Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier directed it, and Universal Pictures distributed it. The movie was a big hit with audiences around the world.

1. ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ (2025)

As a huge fan of ‘How to Train Your Dragon,’ I was really excited about the live-action remake! It’s a fresh take on Cressida Cowell’s books, bringing Hiccup and Toothless’ incredible friendship back to life. Dean DeBlois is back directing, which is fantastic, and Mason Thames does a great job as Hiccup, alongside Nico Parker as Astrid. It was lovely to hear Gerard Butler reprise his role as Stoick too. I saw it in theaters back in June, and now it’s finally available to stream on Peacock, along with all three original animated movies – perfect for a marathon!

I’m so curious to hear what everyone’s been watching! Let me know in the comments what you streamed this week, and definitely share any recommendations for what we should all check out next week – I’m always looking for something new to watch!
