‘Haha, You Clowns’ (2025–)

The animated series ‘Haha, You Clowns’ premieres on Monday, October 20th. It follows a father and his three teenage sons as they navigate life and try to find humor and connection after a loss. Created by Joe Cappa, who also voices the entire family, the show uses a dry, quirky style to depict relatable, everyday moments – like family movie nights, accidental internet fame, and uncomfortable birthday celebrations. These situations are used to explore themes of grief, personal growth, and the strength of family relationships. The series is based on Cappa’s previous short films, ‘Smalls,’ and maintains a focus on character development and self-contained episodes.

‘Holmes Family Rescue’ (2022–)

Premiering Wednesday, October 22nd, ‘Holmes Family Rescue’ features contractor Mike Holmes working alongside his children, Sherry and Mike Jr., to repair poorly done home renovations and ensure homes are safe. Each episode follows the family as they inspect structural problems, redo electrical and plumbing work, and help homeowners find solutions that meet building codes. The show also utilizes a team of rotating designers and skilled tradespeople to complete each renovation. Viewers can expect to learn a lot about building basics and see practical, real-world problem-solving in every episode.

‘Expedition X’ (2020–)

Premiering Thursday, October 23rd, ‘Expedition X’ follows scientist Phil Torres and paranormal researcher Jessica Chobot as they investigate mysterious events, guided by ‘Expedition Unknown’ host Josh Gates. Each episode blends on-location experiments, nighttime explorations, and interviews with experts to examine everything from legendary creatures and hauntings to UFO sightings. The show combines thrilling visuals with a scientific approach – including initial measurements, controlled tests, and historical research – to distinguish fact from fiction. Brad Kuhlman and Casey Brumels are executive producers, shaping the show’s mix of investigation and compelling storytelling throughout its run.

‘Dangerously Obese’ (2025–)

Premiering on Thursday, October 23rd, ‘Dangerously Obese’ is a medical series that follows people facing life-threatening obesity as they undergo surgery and make lifestyle changes with the help of bariatric surgeon Dr. Charles Procter. Each episode shows the medical process – from initial evaluations and preparation for surgery to recovery afterward – and explores the emotional and family challenges patients face. The series focuses on the serious health risks of obesity, such as heart and metabolic disease and limited mobility, and how counseling and nutrition plans can help people achieve lasting results. Each new episode features a different patient’s journey and gives viewers a look at the medical team’s approach and the choices they make.

Teen Titans Go!’ (2013–2025)

As a big animation fan, I’m excited ‘Teen Titans Go!’ is back starting Friday, October 24th! It’s a hilarious show following the super-powered roommates – Robin, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boy – in quick, eleven-minute bursts of fun. Created by Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath, and with a fantastic voice cast including Scott Menville, Hynden Walch, Tara Strong, Khary Payton, and Greg Cipes, it’s brought to us by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment. What I really love is how the show playfully pokes fun at superhero clichés, uses clever meta-humor, and isn’t afraid to break the fourth wall, all while still diving into the rich world of DC Comics and exploring how the team interacts. It’s been on for so long now, they’ve made tons of episodes, specials, and even teamed up with other DC characters – it’s a really impressive run!

‘IT: Welcome to Derry’ (2025–)

Premiering on October 26th, ‘IT: Welcome to Derry’ is a new series that goes back in time to explore the origins of the terrifying events in Stephen King’s ‘It.’ Decades before the films, this prequel reveals how the town of Derry and the evil Pennywise first came to be. The series brings back Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise and stars Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, and Chris Chalk. Created by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, and co-showrun by Brad Caleb Kane, the show delves into Derry’s past, its people, and the dark secrets that haunt it, including appearances from familiar characters like Dick Hallorann. Andy Muschietti also directs several episodes, bringing the visual style of the movies to this new series format.
