Production is now underway for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, and Mark Ruffalo has been spotted filming on location.
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker in this new film, alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, Marvin Jones III, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Mark Ruffalo. It’s the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Six and will be released in the United States on July 31, 2026.

I’m so excited – filming officially started on August 3rd in Glasgow, Scotland! They’re calling the project *Blue Oasis* for now. It’s cool to see they’re using places like Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate to stand in for New York City – it’s going to look amazing on screen!
Filming for the project happened at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey and Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. The team behind Jackie Chan’s stunts, who also worked on Shang-Chi, were brought back to choreograph the fight scenes.
Photos taken on the set in Glasgow revealed armored vehicles with a red demon symbol, leading some fans and publications like *Total Film*’s Bradley Russell to wonder if this hints at the comic book villain Mister Negative. Additionally, a prop seen on set looked like the character Rhino. Actor Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play Lonnie Lincoln, the villain known as Tombstone.
Mark Ruffalo, though present during filming, recently told GQ that he still hasn’t had a chance to read the script.
Filming temporarily stopped when Holland sustained a minor concussion during a stunt at Pinewood Studios. Fortunately, he quickly recovered, and the production team assured everyone the incident wouldn’t push back the movie’s release date.
Fans are thrilled to have Mark Ruffalo returning as the Hulk, even though it’s still unclear how big his role will be. With so many familiar faces and suggestions of multiple villains, anticipation is building for the next Spider-Man movie.
