It’s full of authentic touches, like period firearms and some tense courtroom drama, and it really explores the idea of who holds the power and how the law works in this setting.

‘The Salvation’ (2014)

Kristian Levring’s Western film was a collaborative production from Denmark, the UK, and South Africa. Starring Mads Mikkelsen as a homesteader seeking revenge after a family loss, the movie was filmed in the dry landscapes near Johannesburg. ‘Slow West’ (2015)
