I’m hearing that Playboi Carti is in some legal trouble. Apparently, he was involved in an alleged assault in Utah earlier this month, and the police are looking into it.
The rapper behind the popular song “Rather Lie” was accused of simple assault after a disagreement with a limousine driver while on his Antagonist Tour.
According to police reports, Carl Reynolds, the driver of a limousine, claims that rapper Playboi Carti assaulted him on October 2nd. Reynolds was driving Carti and his group from the Waldorf Astoria in Park City to a rehearsal when the alleged attack occurred. Carti was in town performing concerts as part of his tour.
According to Reynolds, things got worse when Carti and his girlfriend had a loud fight inside the limousine.
According to a police report from KSL and reported by TMZ, Reynolds stated that Carti supposedly threatened both him and his girlfriend after Reynolds tried to help. Reynolds said he saw his girlfriend curled up and protecting her chest, but he didn’t actually see Carti hit her.
Reynolds told Carti’s security to get the rapper out of the car. Reynolds claims Carti then punched him in the jaw as his girlfriend was getting out of the limousine, leaving him with a swollen jaw and a painful neck. Carti’s security team intervened to stop the fight, and another driver from ALC A Limousine Connection apparently saw what happened.
I was really shocked to hear about what happened to Reynolds. The police came out and took pictures of his injuries, and now he’s thinking about getting a lawyer. But honestly, what he cares about most is making sure Carti doesn’t hurt anyone else – he’s even worried about Carti’s girlfriend. It’s just a scary situation, and he wants to protect others.
