Good news for Dragon Ball Super fans! A new season might arrive in April 2026, marking almost seven years since the last episodes aired on television.
ScreenRant reports that the announcement could happen at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 in Los Angeles, taking place on April 19th and 20th.
The Dragon Ball Super anime series finished its run in May 2018 with the Tournament of Power story arc. Since then, new Dragon Ball content has come in the form of movies – including ‘Broly’ and ‘Super Hero’ – and most recently, the ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ anime.
Akio Iyoku, an executive producer on Dragon Ball, has suggested that more Dragon Ball stories are planned. He stated that after the upcoming series, Dragon Ball Daima, the team is actively developing future projects and confirmed the anime will continue beyond that.
As a huge Dragon Ball fan, I always look forward to the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour. It’s usually all about the video games, but they’ve surprised us with anime news in the past too! This year, the official site says they’re planning to share the latest on *everything* Dragon Ball – the manga, anime, movies, games, collectibles, the works – with fans worldwide. It sounds like they’re really giving us a look at all the different ways the Dragon Ball universe is expanding, which is awesome!
Although Toei Animation hasn’t officially announced anything, clues and the timing of recent events suggest that Dragon Ball Super might make a comeback in April 2026. Fans will have to wait for an official statement from Toei Animation to know for sure.
