John Carpenter Executive Producing New Horror Anthology Series

As a horror fan, it’s hard to overstate how much I respect John Carpenter. He’s right up there with Stephen King as a true master of the genre, and it’s awesome to hear he’s still involved in scary stuff! I just read in *The Hollywood Reporter* that he’s executive producing a new anthology series called *John Carpenter Presents* for Elevation Pictures. Apparently, the first season is set in the Alaskan wilderness and will follow a bunch of different characters dealing with some seriously creepy, both supernatural and psychological, stuff. Sounds like it’s going to dig into the fears and anxieties we’re all feeling right now – and let’s face it, there’s plenty of material to work with these days!

Michael Amo (known for *Pure* and *The Listener*) and Will Pascoe (*Orphan Black*) will lead the creative team on *John Carpenter Presents*. This Canadian series aims to capture the look and feel – including the music – of John Carpenter’s films. Carpenter famously composed the scores for almost all of his movies, like *Halloween* and *The Thing*, not only creating iconic characters like Michael Myers but also the memorable music linked to them. The series will be structured like *American Horror Story*, with each season telling one complete story, rather than being an episodic anthology similar to *The Twilight Zone*.

Elevation Pictures announced their excitement about entering television with horror legend John Carpenter. They praised the writing and showrunning experience of Will and Michael, and expressed confidence in the creative team’s ability to deliver a great series. As for where viewers in the US will be able to watch it, that’s still unknown. However, given John Carpenter’s involvement, it’s highly likely *John Carpenter Presents* will end up on a major streaming service.
