Pokémon Legends Z-A Racine Construction: Where to trade Colorful Screws

I’m already so excited for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and I’ve heard it’s packed with things to do! One of those things is collecting these things called Colorful Screws. Apparently, there are tons of them hidden all over the place, usually up high, and you can trade them in for really useful items. Sounds like a fun little side quest!

The game tells you *where* to trade your Colorful Screws, but doesn’t show you the location on the map, and you won’t need to go there for quite a while. This guide will show you exactly where to trade them, what rewards you’ll get, and how to find more Colorful Screws.

Where to trade Colorful Screws – Legends ZA 

To exchange your Colorful Screws, head to Racine Construction. However, you won’t need to go there as part of the main story for quite a while, probably after you’ve already collected a good number of them.

Racine Construction is in the southeast part of Lumiose City, on South Boulevard in Vert Sector 7. It’s near Hotel Z and not far from Wild Zone 1. You’ll recognize it as a large warehouse with a small sign and several workers outside, one of whom you can speak with.

Check the map to find Racine Construction. Once you go there, it will become a fast travel location.

Colorful Screw trading rewards – Legends ZA

So, I’ve been collecting these Canari Plushies in the game, and they’re actually really useful! Each one gives you a little bonus. Like, one helps my Pokémon level up faster by giving them more experience points, and another lets me earn more money after winning trainer battles. Here’s a complete rundown of all the Canari Plushies and what they do:

  • Red Canari Plush – Increases the amount of experience earned by Pokémon 
  • Gold Canari Plush – Increases the amount of prize money you earn from trainer battles 
  • Pink Canari Plush – Increases the amount of Mega Shards you get from smashing Mega Crystals 
  • Green Canari Plush – Increases the amount of hits from hostile Pokémon your trainer can take without blacking out 
  • Blue Canari Plush – Increases the success rate of catching Pokémon 

Canari Plushies can be upgraded three times to become more effective. Each upgrade costs a different amount of screws: 3 screws for the first upgrade, 5 for the second, and 8 for the third.

Where to find Colorful Screws – Legends ZA 

Colorful Screws are hidden throughout Lumiose City, and you’ll mostly find them in high places. Check rooftops, but the easiest way to collect them is by completing the scaffolding challenges from Racine Construction. Whenever you spot scaffolding you can climb, there’s usually a Colorful Screw nearby.

Colorful Screw item balls are easy to find, even from far away, because they have a distinctive purple glow. If you notice a brief purple light shining from rooftops or scaffolding, you’ll know a Colorful Screw is nearby.

You can’t collect all the Colorful Screws immediately. Some are hidden in areas that require a special ability called Roto-Glide, which you’ll unlock as you progress through the story. This ability helps with tricky platforming sections and lets you reach more rooftops. Additionally, a few elevators – and the screws they lead to – are locked until you complete certain side quests that become available during the game, so you’ll need to play through the story to find everything.
