Battlefield 6 Becomes the Biggest Launch in Franchise History

Battlefield 6 has broken franchise records, marking the biggest launch ever for the popular shooter series. Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios announced the milestone, confirming its success.

Battlefield 6 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and it’s already become one of the biggest game launches of the year.

Battlefield 6 had a hugely successful launch, selling over 7 million copies in just three days after a very popular open beta. Players are incredibly engaged, with 172 million matches played online and a massive 15 million hours of gameplay watched on streaming services – the most ever for a Battlefield game.

Developers Thank the Fans

Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield, credited the game’s success to player feedback.

“We really want to thank our players first,” said Beede. “*Battlefield 6* was created with our fans in mind. We’ve carefully listened to player feedback throughout the entire process, from the very first idea to features like Battlefield Labs and the hugely successful Open Beta. We shared a single goal with our players: to make the best *Battlefield* game possible. And this is only the start – our first season of new content arrives in just 12 days.”

Vince Zampella, a leader at EA, expressed gratitude to both the players and the development teams who worked on the game.

Zampella stated, “We’re incredibly thankful for this launch and don’t take your support for granted. We want to thank everyone at Battlefield Studios and our amazing community who helped make *Battlefield 6*’s launch possible. We’re excited to share more updates and content in the coming weeks.”

What’s Next for Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 Season 1 kicks off on October 28th with the ‘Rogue Ops’ update. It introduces a large new map called ‘Blackwell Fields’ and a 4v4 competitive mode. Two more content drops are planned before the year ends.

As a huge Battlefield fan, I’m really excited to hear that Battlefield 6 isn’t just another game – it’s the beginning of a whole connected universe! EA is bringing all four of their top studios – Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect – together to build and shape where the franchise goes from here. It sounds like they’re planning something really ambitious and long-term, which is awesome.

Battlefield 6 is available in two editions:
