I was so excited to hear that *Pop Culture Jeopardy!* is coming back for a second season! And even better, it’s moving to Netflix, which means more people will be able to watch. I’m really hoping Colin Jost comes back as host – he was great! I can’t wait to test my pop culture knowledge again.
Sony Pictures Television Game Show Division created the series, which first launched on Amazon last December. Moving it to Netflix is unusual, as it’s not often a popular game show moves to a different streaming service.
Why The Move Happened
Amazon is changing its plans for reality TV shows as new television chief Peter Friedlander, previously at Netflix, begins to shape the programming. This follows recent departures of several Amazon reality TV executives, like Jenny Falkoff and Alysia Russo, who have moved to Netflix.
Amazon’s former game show lineup, which included *Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?* with Travis Kelce, *Buy It Now* hosted by JB Smoove, and *Wish List Games*, is currently on hold. Kelce’s commitments to the Kansas City Chiefs and his plans to marry Taylor Swift also make it unclear if he’ll be back for future seasons.

What To Expect From Season 2
The Netflix version of *Pop Culture Jeopardy!* will follow the same team format as the original, with three-person teams competing in a tournament-style bracket. Players will be tested on their knowledge of pop culture with categories like “Horror Made Wholesome,” “Bummer Movie Endings,” and “The Avengers.”
The first season of the show stood out for its playful take on pop culture, referencing everything from classic 90s TV shows and hidden details in Taylor Swift’s work to popular internet memes and fun facts about celebrities.
Suzanne Prete, president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, praised the move.
I was completely hooked by *Pop Culture Jeopardy!* – it’s just so much fun to watch! As a long-time fan of the original, I loved how it took everything we already enjoyed and let us really prove how much we know about, well, everything happening in pop culture. And I’m so excited that we’re working with Netflix to bring even more episodes to all of us who can’t get enough!
Colin Jost Expected To Return
Colin Jost, the original host of the show, is being considered to host the second season. Many believe his humor and understanding of current trends were key to attracting a younger viewership.
