Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Co-Parenting Challenges With Kanye West

Kim Kardashian recently discussed the difficulties of raising her children with her ex-husband, Kanye West, in an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper.

The reality star and Kanye West were married from 2014 until 2021 and have four children together: North, who is 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6.

The discussion touched on many things, like Kardashian’s family relationships and her well-known appearances on social media and TV.

She talked about her family, her expensive beauty habits, and her plans to go to law school. She admitted, “I’m not even that interested in getting my bachelor’s degree – I really just want to become a lawyer.”

The conversation often shifted to Kanye West. Kardashian spoke about their past relationship and the challenges of raising their children together.

“Co-parenting with Kanye West is definitely challenging,” she told Anderson Cooper. She shared that she’s now primarily responsible for raising their children, but she always encourages a positive relationship between them and their father. “I want my kids to have a healthy relationship with their dad, and I consistently work to make that happen,” she explained.

She acknowledged that staying in touch with Kanye West isn’t always easy. “It’s been a few months since we last heard from him,” she shared. Kardashian also clarified that she never prevents her children from seeing their father, stating, “The idea that I keep the kids away from him is just not true. I’ve never done that.”

Kardashian explained how she deals with drama caused by things people say publicly and online. She often writes out responses to avoid arguments, but then decides not to post them.

She explained that she often starts writing something, then questions whether it’s worth finishing. ‘I’ll start a draft, think about giving up, and then wonder what the point is,’ she said. ‘Will I just keep revising it endlessly? And my kids might end up seeing it, too.’

She shared that criticism of her kids or family members hurts her feelings the most. “I’m open to hearing different opinions on pretty much anything,” she explained, “but I won’t tolerate anyone talking negatively about my children.”

Although she’s currently single, Kim Kardashian has considered getting married again. She even began planning a wedding dress with the late designer Thierry Mugler, intending to keep it as a piece in her personal fashion collection, as she explained.

She playfully shared what she’s looking for in a future partner, saying she’s done with rappers and athletes. “I’m hoping for lawyers and scientists who study longevity – people who can share all their secrets to a long life!” she explained.

Kardashian seems to be prioritizing her kids and personal ambitions as she manages her complicated relationship with West.
