You’ll find everything from fun family entertainment to gripping true crime documentaries and hilarious stand-up comedy – meaning there’s something for everyone to enjoy, no matter their age or what they’re in the mood for.

Here’s a quick guide to each movie and show: we’ll tell you what it’s about, who stars in it, and who worked on it. You’ll also find the release date for each title, so you can easily plan what to watch between Monday, October 13th and Sunday, October 19th.

‘Pan’ (2015)

Joe Wright’s “Peter Pan & Wendy” tells the origin story of Peter Pan, showing how he went from an orphan in London to the boy who never grows up. The film explores his first encounter with James Hook, before Hook became the infamous Captain. Levi Miller stars as Peter, alongside Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as James Hook, and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily. The screenplay, by Jason Fuchs, is based on the beloved characters and stories created by J.M. Barrie. You can watch it on HBO Max starting Wednesday, October 15th.

‘Pan’ features director Joe Wright’s distinctive visual style, brought to life by stunning cinematography from Seamus McGarvey and John Mathieson, and a sweeping orchestral score by John Powell. Produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Paul Webster, the 111-minute film, originally released by Warner Bros. Pictures, offers a fresh take on the classic Peter Pan story, exploring the origins of Peter and Hook’s complex relationship alongside large-scale action sequences.

‘An Intimate Evening with Adam Pally’ (2025)

Okay, so I’m really excited about this new special dropping on HBO Max on October 17th. It’s Adam Pally, and from what I’ve heard, it’s not just straight stand-up. He’s blended in documentary-style stuff, live music, and a lot of storytelling. Apparently, it’s all one continuous performance where he’s mixing jokes with musical bits and really playing with who he is on stage. Sounds pretty unique, honestly – not your typical comedy special.

Brent Hodge directed this special and also served as an executive producer. It’s a unique performance – part concert film, part stand-up comedy show – that builds on Pally’s background in improv and sitcoms. The show features a full stage production and tells a complete story throughout the evening.

Die My Love’ (2025)

Premiering on HBO Max on October 17th, ‘Die My Love’ is a film based on Ariana Harwicz’s novel, telling the story of a new mother struggling with her mental health after childbirth, where the line between what’s real and what isn’t begins to fade. Directed by Lynne Ramsay, the movie follows a woman named Grace and explores themes of who we are, feeling alone, and the unpredictable nature of wanting things, all as her home life falls apart.

The film boasts a talented team, with Ramsay collaborating on the script alongside Enda Walsh and Alice Birch. It’s being produced by a group including Jennifer Lawrence, Martin Scorsese, and various companies like Excellent Cadaver, Sikelia Productions, and Black Label Media. Seamus McGarvey is the cinematographer, and the overall creative approach focuses on a deeply personal and immersive perspective, similar to Ramsay’s previous work exploring complex characters.

‘Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team-Up!’ (2025)

A new animated crossover event arrives on Disney+ on Friday, October 17th, bringing together characters from ‘Spidey and His Amazing Friends’ and ‘Iron Man and His Awesome Friends.’ In this special, Spidey joins forces with Iron Man and other Avengers to stop a villain using technology. The story features heroes like Ms. Marvel, Hulk, Captain America (Sam Wilson), and Black Panther, all working together on a mission designed for younger viewers with a focus on teamwork and overcoming challenges.

Okay, so the voice cast for this new Marvel special is seriously impressive! We’ve got Alkaio Thiele stepping into the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and Mason Blomberg as Tony Stark/Iron Man, which is fantastic. Plus, Sandra Saad as Ms. Marvel, Armen Taylor as Hulk, Hero Hunter as Captain America, and Cruz Flateau as Black Panther all bring their talents to the mix. The villains are covered too, with J.P. Karliak as the Green Goblin and Tony Hale absolutely nailing Ultron. And it’s not just the voices – the show is connected to Marvel’s other preschool shows, and they’ve even written an original song, “Team-Up!,” by Patrick Stump. It’s shaping up to be a really fun experience for little Marvel fans!

‘Brittany Murphy: An ID Mystery’ (2020)

A new documentary arrives on Disney+ on October 18th, taking a closer look at the unexpected death of actress Brittany Murphy at age 32. It revisits the many unanswered questions surrounding her passing, exploring the medical evidence, how the media covered the story, and the key events that kept the case in the public conversation.

The program, directed by Bryan Gildner and produced by Investigation Discovery, explores the deaths of Brittany Murphy and her husband, Simon Monjack. Using interviews and old footage, the 42-minute documentary pieces together known facts and unanswered questions, relying on official records and direct accounts from those involved.

‘Fifty Shades of Black’ (2016)

On October 18th, Paramount+ will release a hilarious parody starring Marlon Wayans. The movie playfully spoofs the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ series, following the clumsy and over-the-top romance between college student Hannah Steele and wealthy billionaire Christian Black.

Directed by Michael Tiddes and written by Marlon Wayans and Rick Alvarez (who also produces), the movie features a cast including Kali Hawk, Affion Crockett, Jane Seymour, Andrew Bachelor, Florence Henderson, Jenny Zigrino, Fred Willard, and Mike Epps. With David Ortkiese as the cinematographer and a score by Jim Dooley, the film playfully uses and subverts common tropes with fast-paced sketches and running jokes.
