
At New York Comic Con, Dotemu and Tribute Games unexpectedly released a free demo of their upcoming beat ’em up, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, on Steam, letting players try it out for the first time. The game is scheduled for release in 2025.

The *MARVEL Cosmic Invasion* demo is available to play on Steam now! This quick preview lets you try out 9 different heroes and battle across multiple levels, including iconic locations like New York City and a fight on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

Playable characters in the demo:
- Captain America
- Wolverine
- Spider-Man
- Storm
- Nova
- Phyla-Vell
- Venom
- She-Hulk
- Rocket Raccoon
Every hero has unique abilities, and you can combine two heroes for team-based action with the “Cosmic Swap” feature.
First Real Gameplay Showcase
Marvel recently shared a demo and new gameplay footage showcasing the game’s combos, levels, and cooperative play. The game features a cool, retro pixel art style inspired by classic arcade games. During battles, players can switch between two heroes to perform powerful team attacks and unique special moves. You can check it out in the video below.
More to Come Before Launch
The complete game will feature 15 playable heroes, and with 13 already announced, just two are still to be revealed. Players will fight against Annihilus and his Annihilation Wave in a brand-new story that takes place throughout Marvel’s universe, from Earth to the Negative Zone, and is inspired by classic Marvel cosmic adventures.
Release Info
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox in 2025. The complete game will include more characters, levels, and both online and local multiplayer options.
