Marvel TV Boss Talks Potential Cameos of Iron Fist and Luke Cage in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season

The popular Marvel series *Daredevil* is returning to Disney+ with a second season, titled *Daredevil: Born Again*. The first season was well-received, with viewers especially enjoying the performances of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

The second season is coming soon, and Marvel believes it will be just as successful as – or even more popular than – the first. Brad Winderbaum, a leader at Marvel Studios, has confirmed that a third season is already planned, and production is expected to begin early next year.

Even as Marvel works on other titles like *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* and *Avengers: Doomsday*, the story of Daredevil in New York City will keep going.

When Entertainment Weekly asked if characters like Luke Cage or Iron Fist could return with Jessica Jones, Winderbaum didn’t say yes or no. Instead, he focused on the overall direction of the show.

I don’t want to reveal too much, but the show is really working well. Like Stan Lee always said, it holds a mirror up to the real world. New York City’s politics play a big role in the story. Yes, it’s about a hero in a devil costume, but what’s truly impressive is how the showrunner, Dario Scardapane, weaves together complex relationships between characters, and how realistically he portrays New York, City Hall, and the rising opposition to Fisk.

It often feels like you’re reading a grand fantasy story, almost like *Game of Thrones*. The show has a really engaging storyline filled with palace intrigue and power plays. I’ve started watching the edited footage, and it’s incredible. It’s not just about guest appearances, though—the story goes much deeper. While there are definitely treats for fans, the focus is really on the high stakes and the world that Kingpin is creating in New York City.

According to Winderbaum, the new season won’t just be about the heroes fans know and love. The show is really a deep dive into the story of New York City, the growing power of Kingpin, and the struggles that surround him. It looks like the relationships between characters and the political landscape will be the main focus of Season 2.
