Hulu has a great selection of new shows and seasons dropping this weekend, along with some interesting international and anime titles. Whether you’re planning a weekend binge, there’s plenty to watch now, and a few recent additions you might have missed.

Here are ten recommended shows to get you started quickly. We’ve included a brief overview of what each show is about and who created it. The list focuses on shows released this week, then highlights originals, and finally includes recent or classic shows that are still popular.

‘9-1-1: Nashville’ (2025– )

The latest installment of the ‘9-1-1’ franchise takes place in Tennessee, focusing on Captain Don Hart, who heads up the emergency responses at Nashville’s Fire Station 113. He and his team handle everything from tornadoes and major accidents to large-scale city emergencies. Created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani, and executive produced by Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett, the series stars Chris O’Donnell, alongside Jessica Capshaw and Hailey Kilgore.

This new show, from 20th Television, follows a unique team and their procedures for handling emergencies in the area. The series begins with a dangerous rescue on the Shelby Street Bridge. While it incorporates familiar elements from the franchise – like emergency calls, coordinated responses, and rotating specialized units – it also explores the complex relationships between the fire, police, and emergency medical services departments.

‘9-1-1’ (2018– )

Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, the popular emergency response drama returns to Los Angeles. The show follows the firefighters and paramedics of Station 118 as they tackle everything from massive emergencies to personal crises, starring Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, and Ryan Guzman.

This season, produced by 20th Television, continues the story after last year’s dramatic ending. Each week features new rescue missions that also develop the characters and their relationships. The show combines exciting, movie-like scenes with the familiar structure of a police procedural, and explores how changes in leadership and field strategies are reshaping the team’s approach.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ (2005– )

The popular medical drama from Shonda Rhimes is back, picking up where it left off at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The show follows both challenging medical cases and the personal journeys of the doctors who handle them. Returning stars include Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Kim Raver, Caterina Scorsone, and Camilla Luddington.

With Meg Marinis now leading the show, the latest episodes continue to explore the relationships between doctors and their trainees, all while realistically portraying the challenges of different surgical specialties like heart, brain, and pediatric care. Still produced by Shondaland and The Mark Gordon Company for ABC/Disney, the series remains focused on the inner workings of the hospital, innovative medical cases, and the experiences of doctors in training.

‘Halloween Baking Championship’ (2015– )

Okay, so Food Network’s ‘Halloween Baking Championship’ is back, and let me tell you, it’s deliciously spooky! John Henson is hosting again, which is always fun, and the judging panel – Carla Hall, Zac Young, and Stephanie Boswell – have a tough job ahead of them. These bakers are creating some seriously impressive, Halloween-themed desserts – think sculpted cakes, pies, and huge showstoppers. It’s not just about looks, though; the judges are really looking for amazing flavor and technical skill, and everything has to be ready for a Halloween party. It’s a fast-paced competition, and the pressure is definitely on!

Super Delicious Productions created this show, which combines quick preliminary challenges with larger baking tasks, all themed around Halloween. While past seasons featured rotating hosts and judges, the current team focuses on skillful baking, detailed decorating, and increasingly challenging recipes as the show progresses.

‘Ghost Adventures’ (2008– )

This paranormal investigation show follows Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley as they spend the night in places believed to be haunted. Each episode starts with the history of the location and stories from people who have experienced strange things there. The team then uses cameras, recorders, and other equipment to try and capture evidence of paranormal activity.

This show, created by MY Entertainment, explores unexplained phenomena like electronic voice phenomena (EVPs) and unusual temperature changes. It combines on-location investigations with interviews and historical footage. The show has grown into a series of specials and spin-offs, continually reviewing evidence and revisiting the most interesting locations.

‘Vinland Saga’ (2019–2023)

This anime series is based on a manga by Makoto Yukimura and follows Thorfinn’s journey through Viking-age Europe, as he transforms from a man driven by revenge into someone seeking a new purpose. The first season was created by Wit Studio, and the second by MAPPA, with Shūhei Yabuta directing and Yutaka Yamada composing the music.

Twin Engine produced the series with help from Production I.G and Kodansha. The 48 episodes cover the War Arc and Slave Arc, following the characters as they meet important figures like Askeladd, Canute, and Einar, and travel from Iceland and England to explore more of the Norse world.

‘Branding in Seongsu’ (2024)

This South Korean series is a romantic thriller about two colleagues – a driven marketing strategist and a kind intern – who unexpectedly switch bodies after a kiss. Now, they must learn to live each other’s lives and manage their careers in this new situation. The show was created and written by Choi Sun-mi and Jeon Sun-young, and directed by Jung Heon-soo, with Kim Ji-eun, Lomon, Yang Hye-ji, and Kim Ho-young starring in the leading roles.

This 24-episode drama, created by Studio X+U for U+ Mobile TV, takes place in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong and focuses on the competitive world of marketing. Each episode is around 30 minutes long and features workplace drama with unexpected twists that change relationships and raise the stakes for everyone involved.

‘Gintama’ (2006–2018)

Gintama is an anime set in a reimagined Edo period occupied by aliens called the Amanto. It follows the hilarious and action-packed adventures of Gintoki Sakata, a freelance samurai, and his quirky team, Shinpachi and Kagura, as they take on odd jobs. The series was initially produced by Sunrise and later by Bandai Namco Pictures, with direction from Shinji Takamatsu, Yoichi Fujita, and Chizuru Miyawaki.

Inspired by Hideaki Sorachi’s manga, the show blends funny, over-the-top stories with more dramatic arcs like ‘Shirogane no Tamashii-hen’. The music is composed by Audio Highs, and the series features a large ensemble cast including characters from the Shinsengumi and Joui groups. The TV show’s story eventually connects to the movie ‘Gintama: The Very Final’.

‘Chad Powers’ (2025– )

This funny sports show features Glen Powell as Russ Holliday, a former football star who returns to college ball disguised as a new player named “Chad Powers.” Powell created the series with Michael Waldron, taking inspiration from a famous sketch featuring Eli Manning. The show also stars Steve Zahn, Toby Huss, and Perry Mattfeld.

As a huge fan, I’m really excited about who’s behind this show! It’s being executive produced by Eli and Peyton Manning, along with the creators themselves. Tony Yacenda directed the episodes, and Natalie Holt did the score – both fantastic choices! What I’m hearing is it’s a really clever mix of everything you’d expect from football – the player drafts, practice sessions, team dynamics, and of course, the games themselves. But there’s a twist! It’s all wrapped up in a secret identity storyline that keeps you guessing and builds suspense throughout the season. It sounds like a really compelling watch!

‘Only Murders in the Building’ (2021– )

I’m totally hooked on this show! It’s a hilarious mystery where three neighbors – Charles, Oliver, and Mabel – end up solving murders in their apartment building. What’s even cooler is they document each case as a true-crime podcast! Steve Martin and John Hoffman created it, and it’s just brilliant.

The show’s executive producers are Martin, Short, Gomez, Hoffman, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, and Jamie Babbit, and the music is composed by Siddhartha Khosla. Each season focuses on a single mystery, often involving residents of ‘The Arconia’ or people from the main characters’ pasts. The investigations involve uncovering clues, conducting surveillance from apartments, and occasionally venturing into the world of theater.

Share which of these you’re streaming first this weekend—and what hooked you—in the comments!
