Chugong, the author of the popular webtoon *Solo Leveling*, has shared some hopeful news for fans: a sequel is still a possibility.
For a long time, fans have wondered if *Solo Leveling: Ragnarok*, written by Daul, was a true continuation of the *Solo Leveling* story. Now, the original author, Chugong, has addressed these questions in a recent interview.
Chugong recently told LitRes, a leading Russian ebook and audiobook service, that *Ragnarok* wasn’t originally planned as a continuation of a previous story.
The interview, originally shared by the fan account @SoloLevelingGuy on X and then translated into English, revealed Chugong’s thoughts on *Ragnarok*. He explained that *Ragnarok* was created as a treat for fans and to see another author’s take on the *Solo Leveling* world. He clarified that while it takes place in the same universe, it doesn’t continue the main storyline directly. Instead, he described it as one of many potential alternate stories, comparing it to the different universes found in Marvel comics.
As a big fan of Solo Leveling, I was really intrigued when ‘Ragnarok’ came out. I learned it started as a way to give fans something extra, a little bonus content. The author, Chugong, actually wanted to see what another writer would do with the world he’d created. It’s definitely set in the same universe as the original, but it’s not exactly a direct continuation of the main story…

I was really excited to hear Chugong say he hasn’t completely closed the door on writing another story himself! He even hinted at potentially writing a sequel, which, as a huge fan of Jinwoo’s journey, is incredibly encouraging. It’s not official yet, but it’s definitely given a lot of us hope that we might see more of the story eventually.
The new story, *Solo Leveling: Ragnarok*, follows Jinwoo’s son, Suho, and has quickly become popular as both a novel and comic, largely due to its ties to the world of the original *Solo Leveling* series.
The story centers on Suho, who is regaining lost abilities and confronting dangers from outer space. While it builds upon the existing world, some fans questioned whether it stayed faithful to the author’s initial vision.
There’s currently no official word on whether a sequel to *Solo Leveling* is being made, but the author has hinted at the possibility, which has fans very excited. Given how popular *Solo Leveling* remains, any continuation of the story would likely be a huge event for the community.
